I've been watching Jordy Nelson since the beginning of the season and i've always liked what i've seen. My question is why do they not let him make a continuous running motion to catch the ball?

Forgive my lack of football vocabulary but the only plays he is allowed to do is to run 10 yards, stop, turn and catch near the touchline. He cant get many yards after the catch because he would have to turn around again before going being able to go on a run.

Why cant he be used in plays where he get thrown to whilst he's in motion? not stop, turn, catch all the time.

Kevin Walter is one of those guys who is very similar in build, weight and size. He got lots of TD's this season and that is due to the fact they pass to him whilst he is in motion.

The coaches could do well to look how they used Walter and implement it on Jordy. What do you think?

Jordy has gotten some opportunity running slants, but he is not the #1 or #2 on the team. So as of now he has to live with what he gets and has done a great job at that. Also I think he is given some routes that are fitted to his height.

I think next year it will be a very interesting battle between Jones and Nelson for #3.

This may be off topic, but did anyone see that sliding catch that he had against the Bears? It was pretty sweet.

They've been using him almost exclusively outside of the hashmarks all season. It was good to see him catch a slant last night. I expect to see more of that next year.

My assumption all along has been that he just isn't as good at running slants as he is at the outside routes. James Jones ran plenty of slants and crossing routes as a rookie last year. And I do think Nelson has run a fair number of routes where he is trying to beat the coverage downfield. But they've only connected on a couple of them so far. He will only get better next year.

Is it just me? Or is everyone looking for cause for everything? So and so didn't get to do this, blame him... its a little aggravating I must say.

I think he is a young receiver and will continue to get more routes and catches as he progresses....

jordy is a great young receiver. he will get much better next year and will be interesting to see if they keep using him on kickoffs.

I think since Jones, Jennings, and Driver are so good with the slants over the middle that they seldom use Martin and Nelson although every now and then you do see martin come over the middle. Martin and Nelson are much bigger targets than the other three so the outside routes are usually what this offense uses them for. I don't doubt that he can go over the middle and make plays but we just have better guys that can do that.
