The more I think about this, the more I like it. Bennett was a better blocker but wasn't going to get open like Jimmy can. We just need a sure-fire guy to complement Davante with suddeness, height, and power, and we'll finally be able to beat these teams we haven't been able to beat in the last 8 years.

Loyalty and tributes have their place at banquets and parades, but to win in the NFL that must be set aside in favor of fielding the best team that one can. Releasing Jordy Nelson was the correct thing for BG to do. CBs were finding it increasingly less of a task to to defend him in spite of his above average route running skills. He has gone to play for the Raiders and I wish him well as GB is not scheduled to play them this year.

Next, GB saved $10 + million that enabled BG to sign TE Jimmy Graham and improve the team. After all improving the team is the #1 job of any GM. and IMO, BG is doing just that.

I still have, and always will have, unending respect for Bart Starr and Ray Nitschke and Randy White and many others that played for the Packers. Yet time and death await us all and sometimes we just have to put on our big boy pants and move forward in the best interest of "The Team".

You're making excuses for one side that in reality work for both sides. Packers are a business, BUT so are individual contractors, such as players. It's all business so that excuse doesn't work.

Nelson got paid well, but the Packers also got some damn good results from him too, so again that again is a wash. And when Nelson signed that contract many were surprised it was so low... claiming Nelson clearly left money on the table as WRs of his talents were getting a good bit more elsewhere.

We are Packers fans and we do love our team. But that doesn't mean we can't love our players as well. Nor does it mean our team is always right.

If the Packers asked Nelson to reduce his salary to 50% he probably would... but less than 20%... when he probably would be a starter? I don't think there is a single person that would do that...

(Tom Brady doesn't count as he was the very poor one in his marriage)

Listened to the interview at work. It's clear the Packers wanted to go in another direction. It wasn't just about the $$$
