I've been watching Jordy Nelson since the beginning of the season and i've always liked what i've seen. My question is why do they not let him make a continuous running motion to catch the ball?

Forgive my lack of football vocabulary but the only plays he is allowed to do is to run 10 yards, stop, turn and catch near the touchline. He cant get many yards after the catch because he would have to turn around again before going being able to go on a run.

Why cant he be used in plays where he get thrown to whilst he's in motion? not stop, turn, catch all the time.

Kevin Walter is one of those guys who is very similar in build, weight and size. He got lots of TD's this season and that is due to the fact they pass to him whilst he is in motion.

The coaches could do well to look how they used Walter and implement it on Jordy. What do you think?

Jordy has gotten some opportunity running slants, but he is not the #1 or #2 on the team. So as of now he has to live with what he gets and has done a great job at that. Also I think he is given some routes that are fitted to his height.

I think next year it will be a very interesting battle between Jones and Nelson for #3.
The world needs ditch diggers too Danny!!!

This may be off topic, but did anyone see that sliding catch that he had against the Bears? It was pretty sweet.

They've been using him almost exclusively outside of the hashmarks all season. It was good to see him catch a slant last night. I expect to see more of that next year.

My assumption all along has been that he just isn't as good at running slants as he is at the outside routes. James Jones ran plenty of slants and crossing routes as a rookie last year. And I do think Nelson has run a fair number of routes where he is trying to beat the coverage downfield. But they've only connected on a couple of them so far. He will only get better next year.

Is it just me? Or is everyone looking for cause for everything? So and so didn't get to do this, blame him... its a little aggravating I must say.

I think he is a young receiver and will continue to get more routes and catches as he progresses....

One of my favorites

jordy is a great young receiver. he will get much better next year and will be interesting to see if they keep using him on kickoffs.

I think since Jones, Jennings, and Driver are so good with the slants over the middle that they seldom use Martin and Nelson although every now and then you do see martin come over the middle. Martin and Nelson are much bigger targets than the other three so the outside routes are usually what this offense uses them for. I don't doubt that he can go over the middle and make plays but we just have better guys that can do that.

    Zero2Cool (2-Jan) : You don't care about it either!!!!

Mucky Tundra (30-Dec) : After the way they played for most of the game yesterday, I don't see how you can sit anyone for the whole game
Zero2Cool (30-Dec) : I'd say play everyone. Going into playoffs at 7th seed on two game lose streak - yucky
Zero2Cool (30-Dec) : Do the Packers have any best players?
beast (30-Dec) : Play or Rest*
beast (30-Dec) : Should the Packers play or free their best players vs the Bears?
Zero2Cool (30-Dec) : Packers should be 3 - 2 in the Division. Bonkers being swept by both Lions and Vikings. yikes
    go.pack.go. (30-Dec) : All crazy stuff…and good point beast
beast (30-Dec) : Packers should be 0-5 in the division, can't say I saw that coming, even 1-4

    Zero2Cool (30-Dec) : Baker Mayfield, 39 TD's ... can't say I saw that one
Zero2Cool (30-Dec) : No matter who is playing as 7th, I think we want them to win. Get rid of 2nd seed haha
go.pack.go. (30-Dec) : That would be dhazer who was rooting for Minnesota
beast (30-Dec) : Well, Commanders are currently the 6th seed and Packers the 7th
beast (30-Dec) : Who was it in Chat, that wanted the Vikings to win (because Lions fans upset them) because Packers could not lose the 6th seed?
beast (30-Dec) : If Falcons win, Packers stay as the 6th seed and Falcons lead the NFCS, if they lose, Commanders 6th and Bucs take NFCS lead
beast (30-Dec) : Win or Loss, the NFCS is going down to week 18
Mucky Tundra (30-Dec) : if the Falcons win, how does that affect the overall NFC playoff picture? Does it mean that the NFC South comes down to week 18?
beast (30-Dec) : If Commanders win, the Packers drop to the 7th seed
beast (29-Dec) : Taylor still at it!
beast (29-Dec) : Colts get the ball and fumble turn over
