It's a what if scenario obviously and I kind of think Holmgrem will stay west or end up in Dallas, but I cannot believe what I'm reading.

Mike Holmgrem left Green Bay for a promotion in Seattle and more money. People still haven't gotten over that evidently.

I would bring in Mike Holmgrem in a heartbeat. All he did was help take the laughing stock known as the Green Bay Packers and turn them into one of the most successful teams of the 90's.

All he did was take a Seattle Seahawks team that was a laughing stock and help turn them into a playoff team for just about every single season. He also took them to a Super Bowl where they were beaten in large part due to being on the bad side of some bad officiating.

Mike Holmgrem is a Hall of Fame coach. He's one of only two coaches in the history of the NFL to take two different teams to the Super Bowl. The other is Bill Parcells.

It's funny that last night I was up late and watching an old game. It was the Monday Night game against the 49ers where the Packers came back and won on an OT field goal by Chris Jackie. The Packers were bigger, faster, stronger, and better coached back then.

Do I like Mike McCarthy?

He's an ok coach.

He's not a Hall of Fame coach.

Mike Holmgrem is.

Mike Sherman took a fall for a 4-12 year. McCarthy taking a fall for a 5-11 year wouldn't be that bizarre.

Now again this is a what if situation and this inst' going to happen, but I cant say I'd feel sad if it did.

The only play I remember from that Superbowl is the pass skipping short of Chmura on 4th down. It replayed in my head over and over for about 6 months.

The whole coaching carousal in the NFL is a joke. Basically you got one year to to have a winning year and even after that one bad year and you're garbage. How in the heck is a coach ever suppose to get anywhere putting a franchise together. I a huge fan of routine and I love what I see with the Broncos, Steelers and Titans in the way they treat coaching staff. Maybe this is why those are three of the more stable franchises. I just feel if you're gonna fire a coach after every losing season you better nevr hire one to more then a one year deal

I don't want Holmgren back. I'm happy for the opportunity he had and I understand for the most part why he jumped at it. But I can't shake the feeling that he abandoned us and the team.

I think if all the Favre Lovers would get over last summer and shut up we would have a lot more interesting posts in the Packer forums.
