Maybe we can somehow convert Aaron Rouse to a SS.

I do think that Atari is capable of being a starter, though. We could probably draft a pretty good safety in round 3 or 4, maybe even use a 2, if we even get a 2 from the Jets. I don't know if they will even make the playoffs this year after losing to the Seahawks.

I want J. Peppers if the Panthers don't tag or resign him. I would stay away from Haynesworth he seems to have a bad attitude and might get lazy with a fat guaranteed contract. Cause most players these days want a lot of guaranteed money, because they can be cut at any time.

Not sure it's all on the players. We may not get a whole lot better unless we get a new safetys coach. I think our cornerbacks coach has done a better job of preparing his guys, and wouldn't mind seeing him promoted to defensive backfield coach.

Rouse should, theoretically, be fine at SS since McCarthy has stated numerous times that the Safety positions are interchangable in our scheme.

Rouse, while having play making potential, has not done much to show himself capable of being a starter. Since Atari went down, Leroy Butler has stated it's changed the ability of our passing D quite a bit. In short, we need a S that is tackle sure, and assignment sure.

Our Safties coach, Kurt Schott., has groomed a pro-bowler in Nick Collins, and a potential pro-bowler in Atari Bigby.

I know Kurt has taken a lot of flack in the past, but it's hard to say he deserves to go after two Safties have emerged quite nicely under his watch.
