If Woodson didn't want to come to GB and only ended up in Gb because he felt that he had on other options available to him, doesn't that sort of imply that other free agents may well not want to come to GB either?
People keep complaining that Ted Thompson doesn't do enuf to sign free agents. What if he has tried but no one wants to come to GB unless they over pay?

This might have something to do with it, but whenever there's a top free agent, you never see GB on any reports either. Nowhere are we mentioned as going after a big name player. Although maybe the Gonzalez trade could be somehow linked to this?

Like I said in my last post though, I hope that these FAs change their opinion now. Every free agent we get seems to be happy with the way things go that they eventually don't want to leave. Maybe this inspires other guys to also come here.

Albeit, this doesn't quote Woodson as saying it was because they would allow him to play offense and corner..

http://www2.jsonline.com/story/index.aspx?id=418872

On Wednesday afternoon, cornerback Charles Woodson agreed to terms on a seven-year, $52 million contract with the Packers, his agent, Carl Poston, told the Journal Sentinel. Woodson, a four-time Pro Bowl player who twice was Oakland's franchise designation, chose the Packers over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

The Packers have Favre to thank in part for Woodson choosing Green Bay.

But it's not the only reason. According to Poston, Woodson picked the Packers because head coach Mike McCarthy agreed to let him play on offense as well as play cornerback.

"I think the fact that Brett committed to another year, that was one thing Charles was interested in," Poston said. "Another point is that they agreed to let Charles play offense as well as defense. That proved to be very beneficial to them. They wouldn't let him do that in Oakland."

Woodson, the 1997 Heisman Trophy winner, played on both sides of the ball at the University of Michigan and saw occasional action on offense during his first few seasons in Oakland after being selected with the No. 4 pick in the draft in 1998. He caught one pass for 19 yards in '99 and one pass for 8 yards in 2000 before then-coach Jon Gruden put an end to his offensive escapades.

According to Poston, the Buccaneers - coached by Gruden - weren't interested in allowing him to play on offense and wanted him to play safety. In the end, Woodson thought the best place for him was in Green Bay where he could enjoy personal and team success.

Although, this pretty much sums it up from Charles himself.. Packers were the only ones buying what Charles wanted to sell.. corner and a chance on offense.. never seen the offense part though have we.

"When I became a free agent, there was really one team knocking on the door, and that was Green Bay," Woodson said Tuesday.

Well it started off as a trade and the following year he was a FA but we were in the running but Ted Thompson didn't want anything to do with that, Moss wanted to come to GB to play with the former QB.
Just Imagine this for the next 6-9 years. What a ride it will be 🙂 (PS, Zero should charge for this)

Zero2Cool (18-Feb) : It should be halted now.
Mucky Tundra (18-Feb) : usually spambots are trying to get traffic to shady websites filled with spyware; the two links being spammed were to the Packers website

Zero2Cool (18-Feb) : Yep. You can do that with holding down ENTER on a command in Console of browser
