Rookie Jon Runyan Jr. enters the spotlight

When GB drafted him, I had hoped Jon would be a solid contributor to the OL. Whenever he came into the game it looked like he was holding his own. PFF has me a little confused because he's only grading out at 53.8 which is below average. Yet he has not given up any sacks or hits. Perhaps it is his run blocking that they hate so much. I don't know since I don't have access to the full report. Whatever it is, as a 6th round pick to come in and play is a real credit to Jon. I can see him getting even better in the coming years.

I think that I have mentioned before that Runyan was my favorite pick of the draft.
But being a Wolverines fan I'm kinda partial to Michigan players.
Well, except for Rashan Gary, I'm still scratching my head over that pick in that spot in the draft.

Great Point

I don't put a huge amount of stock in PFF primarily because I don't understand how the weight each play. As you rightly point out, he has yet to give up sacks. His is not a road grader but I cannot recall his getting blown up on many runs. On the other hand Patrick has gotten blown up on more than his share IMO.

We will see where Fletcher Cox is deployed. That will let you know where they think we are weakest.
