Calling out Sanders?

The defensive line has received significant criticism, arguably going from a position of strength last year to one of weakness.

Thompson doesnt agree.

I think in some respects thats an inaccurate statement to say its the defensive line, he said. I think our guys have played very hard and we dont have the sacks that we maybe would have expected or had last year. But theyve played well. Again, the defense is an 11-man thing.
Its got to be orchestrated properly. And we just havent quite hit our stride yet.

Hopefully he is calling out Sanders, somebody has to be held accountable for this defensive meltdown.
I'm wondering when he expects the D to hit their stride, game 16 against the toothless lions perhaps.

Anyways, I am not sure its calling him out..More so saying the players were not in proper positions at times

The whole not hitting our stride thing was just plain stupid. Maybe they will hit their stride in the off season when they are sitting on their butts.

I hope this comment doesn't mean he is completely happy with the talent on our dline. If that is the case it could be another long season next year.

Thompson's not the type of guy who is going to say what he's really thinking. He's always played things close to the vest. So while he may publicly say that the d line is fine, I can bet that he's thinking something else. Hopefully, "our d line stinks, it's my fault, I'll fix it."

No GM, including Ted is ever happy with the talent on their team to the point they don't try to improve at every position.

Thompson is not about to criticize any player or coach during the season. That's the head coach's job, if it's going to be done at all. But maybe that comment about the defense needing to be orchestrated properly was kind of an unintentional dig at Sanders.
