This D is solid. Pettine can actually SCHEME. He's not reliant on "matchups" alone.

Before, it was the offense bailing out the defense. Not anymore.

Nice to see the D make adjustments mid game. Capers just never changed and let the opposing team keep making big plays.

Yeah, you can tell that there's something in the making with Pettine and this D. There are times when they're enforcing their will on the offense and not just reacting the entire time. If Mike goes, I'm really curious as to what happens with Pettine.

It's odd how, despite seeming to play better, this defense has still given up 30 or more points four times this year.

Because they are exhausted because the offense has not been able to take advantage when the D is dominating. It seems when our D dominates the offense sabotages them with three and outs so they get tired and start letting points on the board.
