I don't see why everyone's wetting their pants over the issue.

Because whether or not you intend too, you sound like you don't think the Packers deserved to win that game.

You sound like you are looking for excuses to not like them. I didn't say you are, but that is how you are coming across to me.

I think we could have blown them out, but we certainly deserved to win. We had 15 guys in IR, Jolly suspended and a ton of dropped passes. Plus we lost Woody Shields and Driver. And yet we STILL won the Superbowl. This team's got of ton of heart and a ton of talent.
Although I do like Dom's coordinating better than MM's.

You have an interesting assessment. Look at the scores since the 2000 game. (I arbitrarily used that game as the starting point to save me time this morning.) Of the 12 game the average score was 28-18. A 10 point margin of victory. SB games are not typically blow out games. Every one is going to have their own definition of what is a blow out. I would think it would have to be 15 points or more. that means the losing team needs more than 2 scores. (I know 2 point conversions and all.) In the past 12 games there have been 2 games that would qualify. 2001 Baltimore- Giants 34-7 and 2003 Tampa-Oakland 48-21.

2000 St. Louis Rams 2316 Tennessee Titans
2001 Baltimore Ravens 347 New York Giants
2002 New England Patriots 2017 St. Louis Rams
2003 Tampa Bay Buccaneers 4821 Oakland Raiders
2004 New England Patriots 3229 Carolina Panthers
2005 New England Patriots 2421 Philadelphia Eagles
2006 Pittsburgh Steelers 2110 Seattle Seahawks
2007 Indianapolis Colts 2917 Chicago Bears
2008 New York Giants 1714 New England Patriots
2009 Pittsburgh Steelers 2723 Arizona Cardinals
2010 New Orleans Saints 3117 Indianapolis Colts
2011 Green Bay Packers 3125 Pittsburgh Steelers

Green Bay's 31 represents the 4th (tie) highest point total in the past 12 years. That's not bad. The defense gave up 25 which is 2nd most but as we know there were real problems with injuries on the defense. If Gb would have scored quicker, Pitt would have had more chance to score as well.
GB got the win. There is no way we can expect them to have gotten a blow out. I am still pleased.
