Read all the way through, does directly have to do with packers.

K-Mart Has Employee1 Employee2 and Employee 3 and a loyal customer base.

Employee 3 is the General manager of the store, Employee 2 is the night manager and Employee 1 is a stock boy.

Phase1
Over the summer #2 (employee 2) Decides after working for many years he is going to quit and go home, at this point everything is fine and #3 and #2 agree on the decision and thank each other for the years they worked together.

Phase2
#3 realizes (obviously) that he is in need of a new night manager and promotes #1. #1 is trained and taught what is expected and how to preform his new job. #1,2 and 3 at this point are all happy.

Phase3
#2 realizes that his decision to leave was not what he wanted and reconsiders it and returns to K-mart to ask for his old job back. As he talks to #3 about it they disagree on what to do. They do not agree and #2 gets a job as the night manager at Walmart. End of story

If you didn't get it before ill spoil it for you.
Employee1=Rodgers Employee2=Favre Employee3=TT/MM Customers= us! :D

Ok fellas, so here is the first of 2 questions.
(these questions are obviously for those who can only speak of Rodgers as the Antichrist)

1)Why are we mad/why do we dislike employee 1(Rodgers)? If you went into a store and was used seeing the same manager and you found out he was let go..... would your first instinct be to punch the new manger is the balls?

The only answer i can think of is because some people expect Rodgers to be Favre.

I completely understand how you can be mad/hate/frustrated with employee3(MM/TT) But what i don't understand/what doesn't make sense to me is how, How much you liked/loved/appreciated/worshiped Favre translates to Hate/Dislike Rodgers. I would understand you liking/Loved/etc Favre translating to hating, etc TT/MM

2) My second question is if we still had Hasslebeck(SP?) as our backup would you all who hate/dislike,etc Rodgers, would you feel the same way about Hasslebeck? (If we still had Hasslebeck that would mean he didn't go to the Superbowl with Seattle and that means we wouldn't know how good or bad he would turn out to be)

>Yes i know Football is different than retail, my point and questions are not about retail or football though.

>Please don't say "because he threw 3 int against the Saints" Because you know as well as anyone he has had games where he scored 3 TDs

>The reason for this thread is to find out why you(Those who disapprove of Rodgers) so strongly oppose Rodgers, If its a personal problem, if your emotionally attached to Favre, or if its something else.

>I like Walmart better than Kmart.... not according to this story, just where i live the K-mart is run down and gross..... Why did i pick Kmart to represent the Pack organization?

>Unless i missed it this off season I don't believe Rodgers was saying "If you take this guy back I'm going to Costco!"

>PLEASE ANSWER HONESTLY, The purpose of this is not to argue amongst each other.

Im going to add 1 more question in here too.

3) Okay so lets just say that when Favre retired over the summer..... Lets say he stayed retired and was happily retired. Do you think you would feel the same about Rodgers?

PS: Happy thanksgiving everyone

Let me state my thoughts on why your analogy doesn't work.

The relationship between a customer and a retail store like K-Mart is almost purely professional. You have no vested interest in the welfare of the night manager, or his replacement. Provided you are able to purchase the goods you are looking for, the change hardly affects you.

As a fan of a football team, many people feel as though they are a part of the team. This sort of amicable relationship is encouraged by a lot of teams in a lot of sports. The fans become an extension of the team, for better or worse. Fans tend to engulf themselves in the lives of their players, and often get caught up in the 'personal' side of the game. The feeling, the actions and inaction, the emotion, the words. They disassociate with the professional, business side of the deal. The compensation paid for the player. Contractual terms. Opportunity costs.

This is where a lot of people get hung up; they can't get over the fact that the night manager was not rehired, and feel it is a personal slap in the face to someone they love and cherish.

A more appropriate analogy is if employee 2 was your (favourite?) sibling or child, and they were replaced by an employee who's future was specifically to replace your sibling. They view it as the manager's chance to capitulate their long term plans. Would you hold animosity against him? You probably would. That is the issue a lot of 'Packer fans' seem to have against Ted Thompson and Aaron Rodgers.

Objectivity is a difficult thing to establish and maintain, especially in regards to fandom in sports.

And even if one was relatively objective, people place different emphasis or importance on different aspects of the deal.

I give you a lot of credit for putting this together. Time and energy baby.. I don't think anyone should not like Rodgers, for the reason, just because he is not Brett Favre. If you wan't to hate Ted Thompson for it, thats your opinion. But how anyone could put any of it on Rodgers shoulders...is crazy

excellent point, ginco AND 93! but i see that nobody who "hates" on rodgers has made even a tiny response to your thread. apparently you're making FAR too much sense - clearly a big no-no.

YES YES YES. I will tell you why i can't stand Rodgers for it is known i can't stand him. Where to start other then he is an I player not a team player.

Look at the draft, he sat there and had 23 other teams pass on him so he pouted. He even said in the preseason he was upset that the 49ers didn't draft him. During this off season he kept saying this is my team and if Brett came back he would have to beat him out because this was his team. Ted Thompson and MM made him the chosen one and he hasn't kept this team on the high level of the NFL.

Another point he gets a contract extension becuase they afraid he might leave to another team, that is proof in the pudding did you hear ole #4 ever say if he would goto another team if he didn't get a contract extension? I remember #4 redoing his contract to help sign players the team needs like when he said he would take a pay cut to sign Moss, will you ever hear that come from Rodgers i really doubt that after all Jennings said he wouldn't discuss his contract till after the season and then what a day or two later Rodgers says gimmie that money.

Since the contract extension he has sucked in 3 of the 4 games he didn't deserve shit. He needs to let actions on the field do his talking and he hasn't proven he can do that. I recall atleast 4 games when we had chances to win and he couldn't do it.

The last reason i can't stand him is all the praise he gets and people saying he is a top 10 qb by looking at stats. So by doing that you say he is better then Big Ben, Peyton Manning. Get real people But then again i know another qb is going to get a huge contract and thats matt cassell because he is doing great, are you telling me he is one of the top 10 qbs in the league.

Those are the reasons i can't stand Rodgers and thats the truth.

As far as the original post you also can't do that because did the big boss tell the retired manager he couldn't go work for Wal-mart? You forget Ted Thompson wanted to send Brett to a losing team that he wouldn't have to face or did you forget that MInn and Chicago were both willing to give a #1 pick but Ted Thompson didn't want him in the division? To back that look at the trade to the jets if the Jets trade brett to the vikings they will lose their next 3 years #1 picks.
Just Imagine this for the next 6-9 years. What a ride it will be 🙂 (PS, Zero should charge for this)

where was there no facts? Didn't he fall to #24 and didn't he say before the 49er's game this year he was hurt and mad at the 49er's? Since his contract extension he has a passer rating ( which you people base everything off of) 76.7, 72.9, 105.8, and 59.8 those are facts. Is it not a fact that the Jets cannot trade Brett back to the Vikings.

So please tell me where i didn't state facts, and btw he asked why people don't like Rodgers so i did and now your trying to tell me that my opinion isn't right because it don't match yours?
Just like you refuse to understand that a qb brings confidence to a team and helps them win games.
