Yes, Kirk Cousins is a better QB than Case Keenum, but look how well Case played during the 2017 season.

Case went 325 out of 481 attempts for 67.6% (2nd in NFL) in 14 starts.
3,547 yards passing (12th in NFL)
22 TD's (12th in NFL)
7 INT's which is basically 1 pick every two games he started or 4th best in NFL

What do you think? I am just not worried about the addition to Kirk, in fact, I'm kind of happy they lost Pat Shurmur and Case Keenum in place of a guy they are paying something like $28 million each of the next three seasons. I'm hoping the money spent on QB is going to hurt that asshole defense.

I’d take Cousins over Keenum.

Here’s my take: Everyone wants to anoint the Vikings, because of last year. But the only way they got past us was by taking a cheap shot on Aaron. They’re not all that.

If Aaron can just hit the open guy OR if we can keep an active T on the roster, maybe we can get back to reality this year.

Fear their defense. That's what put Aaron out of commission last year. Hope that our new makeup on offense allows us to attack it better.

Like you said, Cousins is a better QB but Keenum had a career year last year so my take is that the vikings are probably not going to get much more out of the QB position than they got last year. On the other hand it is less likely they will have a drop off. In other words Cousins is more likely to produce the same stats they had last year than had Keenum would have had in replicating them. For that reason I wish they would have kept Keenum. Also I think Cousins may have a better chance at making Diggs and Theilen improve.

Still, it's not the QB position that worries me about the vikings. It is their defense #1 and the potential impact that Dalvin Cook could have if he comes back strong. People say its a passing game and the running game doesn't matter but the quality of your QB has a lot to do with that. An elite QB certainly can make a running game less important but if your QB is not elite a strong running game can help him immensely. I think the cowboys are in the same boat as the vikings. and average or maybe slightly above average QB is helped greatly by a much better than average running back.

He might be a better QB, but to me the question is : will he mesh with the other offensive players? If they don’t like him, or he doesn’t like them, then it could collapse on the Vikings. (I hope!)🤣
Or maybe now that he got his big payday, maybe he won’t produce like they hope.
Honestly, I don’t see what the big deal is about Cousins. Really, what has he done to deserve all the accolades?
They make it sound like he’s Tom Brady and Aaron Rodgers combined.
I don’t understand it.
He might be an ok QB, but it’s not like he’s won a bunch of Super Bowls.

No... living in the DC area, I had to watch this guy every week. He was okay in between the 20s but was a scrub in the red zone. He got a lot of his stats during garbage time as well.

I was actually excited that the Vikings fully committed to him for three years.

There is a reason the Redskins never signed him to an extension... You don't see franchise quarterbacks hit free agency.

If they would have made a decent offer 3 years ago they would have saved millions.

Keenum had a great year but Cousins is the better qb, Vikings will be slightly better on offense and more consistent.

I’d have probably gone with Bridgewater, but I don’t see how he practices, how he conducts himself off the field, how his knee is rehabbing, I’m not privvy to any of that.

Fact is, it seems to me the Vikings have gone “all in” for a shot at the title. If we can keep at least one active T on the roster, we should be able to bring them back down to reality. I mean they’re good, but they obviously are buying in to their own hype.

Zero2Cool (5h) : sounds like Packers don't get good compensation, Jaire staying
dfosterf (9h) : Nobody coming up with a keep, but at x amount
dfosterf (9h) : Trade, cut or keep
dfosterf (10h) : that from Jaire
dfosterf (10h) : My guess is the Packers floated the concept of a reworked contract via his agent and agent got a f'
Zero2Cool (10h) : Yes, and that is why I think Rob worded it how he did. Rather than say "agent"
dfosterf (10h) : Same laws apply. Agent must present such an offer to Jaire. Cannot accept or reject without presenting it
Zero2Cool (10h) : I'm thinking that is why Rob worded it how he did.
dfosterf (10h) : The Packers can certainly still make the offer to the agent
dfosterf (10h) : Laws of agency and definition of fiduciary responsibility
dfosterf (10h) : Jaire is open to a reduced contract without Jaire's permission
dfosterf (10h) : The agent would arguably violate the law if he were to tell the Packers
Zero2Cool (11h) : That someone ... likely the agent.
Zero2Cool (11h) : So, Jaire has not been offered nor rejected a pay reduction, but someone says he'd decline.
Zero2Cool (11h) : Demovksy says t was direct communication with someone familiar with Jaire’s line of thinking at that moment.
Zero2Cool (11h) : Demovsky just replied to me a bit ago. Jaire hasn't said it.
dfosterf (13h) : Of course, that depends on the definition of "we"
dfosterf (13h) : We have been told that they haven't because he wouldn't accept it. I submit we don't know that
dfosterf (13h) : What is the downside in making a calculated reduced offer to Jaire?
Zero2Cool (15-Apr) : Packers are receiving interest in Jaire Alexander but a trade is not imminent
Zero2Cool (15-Apr) : Jalen Ramsey wants to be traded. He's never happy is he?
Zero2Cool (15-Apr) : two 1sts in 2022 and two 2nd's in 2023 and 2024
Zero2Cool (15-Apr) : Packers had fortunate last three drafts.
dfosterf (15-Apr) : I may have to move
dfosterf (15-Apr) : My wife just told the ancient Japanese sushi dude not enough rice under his fish
Zero2Cool (14-Apr) : I think a dozen is what I need
dfosterf (14-Apr) : Go fund me for this purpose just might work. A dozen nurses show up at 1265 to provide mental health assistance.
dfosterf (14-Apr) : Maybe send a crew of Angels to the Packers draft room on draft day.
Zero2Cool (14-Apr) : I am the Angel that gets visited.
dfosterf (14-Apr) : Visiting Angels has a pretty good reputation
Zero2Cool (14-Apr) : what
Martha Careful (14-Apr) : WINNING IT, not someone else losing it. The best victory though was re-uniting with his wife
Martha Careful (14-Apr) : The manner in which he won it was just amazing and wonderful. First blowing the lead then getting back, then blowing it. But ultimately
Zero2Cool (12-Apr) : I'm guessing since the thumb was broken, he wasn't feeling it.
dfosterf (10-Apr) : Looking for guidance. Not feeling the thumb.
Mucky Tundra (10-Apr) : If they knew about it or not
Mucky Tundra (10-Apr) : I don't recall that he did which is why I asked.
Zero2Cool (10-Apr) : Guessing they probably knew. Did he have cast or something on?
Mucky Tundra (10-Apr) : Did they know that at the time or was that something the realized afterwards?
Zero2Cool (9-Apr) : Van Ness played most of season with broken thumb
wpr (9-Apr) : yay
Zero2Cool (9-Apr) : Mark Murphy says Steelers likely to protect Packers game. Meaning, no Ireland
Zero2Cool (8-Apr) : Struggling to figure out what text editor options are needed and which are 'nice to have'
Mucky Tundra (8-Apr) : *CHOMP CHOMP CHOMP*
Zero2Cool (2-Apr) : WR who said he'd break Xavier Worthy 40 time...and ran slower than you
Mucky Tundra (2-Apr) : Who?
Zero2Cool (2-Apr) : Texas’ WR Isaiah Bond is scheduled to visit the Bills, Browns, Chiefs, Falcons, Packers and Titans starting next week.
Zero2Cool (2-Apr) : Spotting ball isn't changing, only measuring distance is, Which wasn't the issue.
Zero2Cool (2-Apr) : The spotting of the ball IS the issue. Not the chain gang.
Mucky Tundra (2-Apr) : Will there be a tracker on the ball or something?
