I'm fine with people who want to put toxins or drugs or whatever into their own body in their own home. What I have trouble with is the pro-weed group saying weed has no negative at all. That's complete horseshit. I've been stoned a few times and it killed my brain processing power. Things I could normally process immediately, took much time to do.

Hell, one example. After a hit, I impatiently said "Where's your nose, I need to blow my bathroom". He casually raised his arm up, placed an extended finger on his nose and said "right here". I looked at him, glared at him annoyingly saying "wheres your bathroom?". He goes "Ohh, you wanna know where the BATHROOM is... down the hall, 2nd door on left".

I didn't even realize I completely butchered the phrase. I sat back down and said "what the hell was that about" he looked at me and laughed and told me what happened.

Maybe everyone else handles it better than me, but that was the last time I even considered experimenting with it.

Also while I don't think anyone should smoke marijuana and drive studies have shown its no where near as dangerous as alcohol. i.e stoned drivers drive slower and more cautiously and drunk drivers drive more recklessly. Which if you've seen how slow people drive on the highways here in denver you could attest to.

I've read arguments that the paranoia and hypervigilance associated with cannabis intoxication may make drivers more cautious and more aware of their surroundings while driving, which seems to have the ring of plausibility to me. I'm guessing that like most things, fatality rates will regress toward the mean  over time, and the effects one way or the other won't be terribly noteworthy.

I guess I should have put a “sarcasm alert” sign in my post. I NEVER meant they should be allowed to drink on the sidelines.
Yes, Mary Jane might have some positive uses medically. But 99.9% of users use it to get HIGH. Which is just as bad as getting drunk and then going out on public.
If the NFL allows the use, how long would it be before someone got hurt in a game, and then sue the NFL for allowing someone that ended up being positive for drug use to be on the field?
Odont believe ANY business allows its employees to be under the influence while on the job.
All the talk about the “opioid abuse” problem, now you want to make it legal to get high?
Arnt Americans brain dead enough already???

Well, if they are that stupid, they deserve to get caught.
And then lose their multi million dollar jobs.
If you believe that those that use don’t get hooked and end up using all the time, you arnt being realistic.
I see all this anti smoking ads. Yet what about how harsh smoking pot is on your lungs? That stuff makes cigarettes seem like fresh air.

As for Denver, I am not sure. I did live in Greeley, CO and Fort Collins, CO and holy lordy. I thought I was going to need to buy a Lamborghini to prevent getting ran over.

“Getting high” I have no problem with, if that’s what you want to do. The problem is that once it’s made legal to smoke pot, you will have lots more deaths on the roads by high drivers, and for a large amount of people leads to stronger drug use.
So opioid use has sky rocketed. You don’t think that legal pot will also cause skyrocketing drug use? It will.
Plus the expense once “legal”. You don’t think the government won’t want it’s cut?
People can’t pay their bills now. Can you imagine the crime rate once millions more get hooked on pot?
And from my teens, I did smoke it a few times, and I can tell you there is no way I could have safely driven a car under that influence.
It will end up a slippery slope.

Why is it so hard for you to fathom that if you smoked pot a few times and managed to not turn it into a life-consuming addiction, that millions of other people might be able to do the same? Yes, there's definitely people out there addicted to pot. Yes, there's plenty of people out there on hard drugs that started out with pot (which is not the same as cause and effect). Yes there's clowns out there that drive while high. But there's millions more that don't let it consume their lives.

Over 10,000 people die every year from drunk driving deaths. The estimated economic impact of alcohol abuse is $250 BILLION annually. And yet alcohol is so embedded in our culture that nobody seems to have a problem thinking of having a glass of wine with dinner most nights as being perfectly okay, or getting drunk but not plastered with the guys on Sunday as something that's normal and not a slippery slope into alcohol abuse and eventually shooting up heroin and smoking crack and robbing old ladies for drug money. The attitude is that people are responsible for their own actions and that there's a concrete difference between alcohol use and alcohol abuse, and yet for some reason people want to pretend the same thing can't exist for pot.

I personally have only smoked about 6 times in my life - I wouldn't mind doing so maybe a few times a year but it's super low on my priority list and frankly, I need a lot of it to get an effect and I'd rather spend my money elsewhere. But I find it preposterous that you can have a bar for every 1000 people in some cities in Wisconsin and it's not a public health crisis but people act like legalizing pot is going to cause mass societal breakdowns.

True, maybe millions of people might be able to smoke it and not abuse it. But it’s also true that millions WOULD abuse it, get hooked, and end up causing the deaths of people.
I wouldn’t be against stronger penalties for drunk drivers as well.
Too many INNOCENT people become victims of drunks.

beast (8-Aug) : But the Return from IR designations had to be applied by the 53 man cutdown.
beast (8-Aug) : It's a new rule, so it's not clear, but my understanding was that they could be IR'd at any time
Mucky Tundra (8-Aug) : *had to be IRed at 53
Mucky Tundra (8-Aug) : beast, I thought the designate return from IR players had to be IR at cutdowns to 53, not before
beast (8-Aug) : It's a brand new rule, either last season or this season, prior, all pre-season IRs were done for the season
beast (8-Aug) : But the Packers would have to use one for their return from IR spots on him, when they cut down to 53.
beast (8-Aug) : I think the NFL recently changed the IR rules, so maybe the season might not be over for OL Glover.
Zero2Cool (8-Aug) : Packers star Howton, first NFLPA prez, dies at 95 😔
