Players who fail their physicals are put on the physically unable to perform (PUP) list. They count against the 80-man roster and are eligible to practice whenever the team clears them.

Typically, they are players who are coming off surgeries related to previous year injuries, players who were injured during off-season workouts and players who were injured while working out during the month off prior to the start of camp.

The Packers can also pass a player on their physical and still hold them out if they choose. In most cases, it is someone with a minor ailment who they prefer sit out a day or two.

Man if they PUP Jordy that's REALLY not a good sign. Hope Abby is able to practice. Dude needs reps.

If Jordy misses time, that would free up more reps for these WRs at the bottom like Coxton and Pinkert to show what they can do. Could be an opportunity.

I was predicting Jared Abbrederis to be on on PUP opening the season. If he's not now, he can't be, correct?

Great to see Perry and Hayward back. Those are the two I was most worried about. I almost expected Perry to start out on the PUP. That's two players we need to stay heathy.

Report says Abby got hurt at practice today. If true, I feel bad for the guy.

They also need to be on the preseason pup list to be eligible for the regular season pup list.
