This was one of those blessings in disguise that Ahman got that huge offer to go to the Texans.

You were a great Packers in your time here though.. good luck.

AHMAN GREEN TO IR
Posted by Michael David Smith on November 25, 2008, 2:10 p.m.

It may be the end of the line for Ahman Green.

The Houston Texans are expected to place Green on injured reserve today, the Houston Chronicle is reporting. That definitely ends his season, probably ends his time with the Texans and might end his career.

The most recent injury for Green was a knee sprain suffered Sunday against the Browns. He has also been limited by groin and hamstring injuries in his two seasons with the Texans.

Green had 74 carries for 294 yards and three touchdowns this season and 70 carries for 260 yards and two touchdowns last season. For that, the Texans paid him more than $11 million.

Although Sundays knee injury in and of itself isnt career-threatening, Green will turn 32 in February, and 32-year-old running backs coming off back-to-back seasons of less than 300 yards arent exactly hot commodities in the free agent market. Green might be done.

Ahman was a classy guy. Too bad it hasn't worked out in Houston.

You and I have differing understandings of the word classy. Didn't he have multiple domestic violence offenses? He was a good football player though, and deserves a place in the Packer hall of fame.

Sucks that his success didn't carry over. I always enjoyed watching him play.

I asume we resign him, so he can retire a Packer. He deserves that, after being a good RB for that many years in the Packers orginization.

He looked great running in GB, although he pretty much neared the end when I started watching these games. That fumbling though.... 😛

I kinda thought this would happen because the Texans O -line sucks. He was amazing and hope he is a packer hall of famer.

No, I hope we don't bring him back...haha. Ryan Grant is much better than he is.

I do like him though, and it sucks that it didn't work for him in Houston.
