Now wolf has an offer from the raiders. It's one thing to let wolf go if that is what he wants, but it is a whole other thing to tell the whole league that we won't stop him from going. Let the offers poor in. Stupid thing to do if they legitimately wanted to keep him. Makes me question the validity of that statement. But I'm not uffda, so I'll leave it at that.

Especially why are we letting them leave BEFORE the draft? ... I thought scouting types normally found new places after the draft was over, as that's when their year sorta ends and they start over for next year. So Highsmith and Wolf might know how the Packers view and like the guys in this current draft. I think I would of kept them at least until the draft (if possible) and then let them look elsewhere if they were so dang unhappy.

And if you wanted to keep them around, you could try to make them feel special and important in the mean time, trying to keep them around.

Either the Packers really aren't that high on Eliot, or this situation created an insurmountable rift.

Eliot Wolf is under contract with the Packers. He was blocked twice, once from Lions and once from Eagles for GM positions. The Packers interviewed him and chose someone else. They respect him, obviously, as indicated by the numerous raises and the fact he's been working with the Packers for almost 20 years. Perhaps, it's a sign of RESPECT they are letting him seek employment elsewhere. Why is that angle so far from people's minds?

Hell who knows, maybe the Packers will ask for compensation are letting the suitors lineup to give them something in return? Personally, I think the Packers are just being classy and letting the man seek employment elsewhere. Besides, what the hell good is it gonna do to have a pissed off person that high up on your staff being forced to be employed by you if they don't want to?

You'd think Packers fans would have less sticks up their ass with not having to worry about being EMBARRASSED in the playoffs at this time of year, but holy shit!!

Ya all need to relax, chill, smoke a joint or something, damn.

After all, Wolf and Highsmith probably know the players the Packers have been scouting and interested in all year... so why not wait until the draft? Plus if you want them to stay, you can try to let him have more power and hopefully try to make it more fun and interesting for them in the meantime.

Speaking of Wolf and High...

Ya all need to relax, chill, smoke a joint or something, damn.

It is being reported Jr. Wolf has joined the Browns ... Sorry to see him go but hope his future is bright.

The more I thought about it, it makes sense for him. I think the Browns have a golden ticket to rebuild a franchise. It'll make him look good, and I'm assuming having one employer your whole life should hinder his marketability. I don't see how he'll be a GM in Cleveland in 5 years, but it may benefit his stepping stone more than in GB.

On the Green Bay front this triangle of power reporting to "Alfred E. Neuman" Murphy leaves little room for Jr. Wolf to strut his stuff. You never know how life turns out and it might not be the last time we see Elliot Wolf in Titletown. UserPostedImage

It's a low risk situation in Cleveland, so many people have failed to turn it around that the bar has been set quite low. If they can get them back into the playoffs Wolff might be able to springboard into another GM gig in the next 2-3 years. If yet another GM fails to turn Cleveland around Wolff may even be an internal candidate to replace Dorsey.

Versus staying in Green Bay where as long as Rodgers is here so is Gutekunst, and where the bar is set so high that likely only another superbowl run will get people's attention. Even then they'll probably just say they won because they have Rodgers 😁

I'm curious if the Packers will start poaching personnel guys from other teams now.

wpr (15h) : Only 4
Zero2Cool (18h) : If only we had a topic to read about and discuss it. That's something new website must have!!!
dfosterf (19h) : Justice Musqueda over at Acme Packing put up an excellent synopsis of the Packers 1st round options this am
wpr (19-Apr) : 5 days
beast (18-Apr) : 6 days
wpr (17-Apr) : 7 days
Zero2Cool (16-Apr) : sounds like Packers don't get good compensation, Jaire staying
dfosterf (16-Apr) : Nobody coming up with a keep, but at x amount
dfosterf (16-Apr) : Trade, cut or keep
dfosterf (16-Apr) : that from Jaire
dfosterf (16-Apr) : My guess is the Packers floated the concept of a reworked contract via his agent and agent got a f'
Zero2Cool (16-Apr) : Yes, and that is why I think Rob worded it how he did. Rather than say "agent"
dfosterf (16-Apr) : Same laws apply. Agent must present such an offer to Jaire. Cannot accept or reject without presenting it
Zero2Cool (16-Apr) : I'm thinking that is why Rob worded it how he did.
dfosterf (16-Apr) : The Packers can certainly still make the offer to the agent
dfosterf (16-Apr) : Laws of agency and definition of fiduciary responsibility
dfosterf (16-Apr) : Jaire is open to a reduced contract without Jaire's permission
dfosterf (16-Apr) : The agent would arguably violate the law if he were to tell the Packers
Zero2Cool (16-Apr) : That someone ... likely the agent.
Zero2Cool (16-Apr) : So, Jaire has not been offered nor rejected a pay reduction, but someone says he'd decline.
Zero2Cool (16-Apr) : Demovksy says t was direct communication with someone familiar with Jaire’s line of thinking at that moment.
Zero2Cool (16-Apr) : Demovsky just replied to me a bit ago. Jaire hasn't said it.
dfosterf (16-Apr) : Of course, that depends on the definition of "we"
dfosterf (16-Apr) : We have been told that they haven't because he wouldn't accept it. I submit we don't know that
dfosterf (16-Apr) : What is the downside in making a calculated reduced offer to Jaire?
Zero2Cool (15-Apr) : Packers are receiving interest in Jaire Alexander but a trade is not imminent
Zero2Cool (15-Apr) : Jalen Ramsey wants to be traded. He's never happy is he?
Zero2Cool (15-Apr) : two 1sts in 2022 and two 2nd's in 2023 and 2024
Zero2Cool (15-Apr) : Packers had fortunate last three drafts.
dfosterf (15-Apr) : I may have to move
dfosterf (15-Apr) : My wife just told the ancient Japanese sushi dude not enough rice under his fish
Zero2Cool (14-Apr) : I think a dozen is what I need
dfosterf (14-Apr) : Go fund me for this purpose just might work. A dozen nurses show up at 1265 to provide mental health assistance.
dfosterf (14-Apr) : Maybe send a crew of Angels to the Packers draft room on draft day.
Zero2Cool (14-Apr) : I am the Angel that gets visited.
dfosterf (14-Apr) : Visiting Angels has a pretty good reputation
Zero2Cool (14-Apr) : what
Martha Careful (14-Apr) : WINNING IT, not someone else losing it. The best victory though was re-uniting with his wife
Martha Careful (14-Apr) : The manner in which he won it was just amazing and wonderful. First blowing the lead then getting back, then blowing it. But ultimately
Zero2Cool (12-Apr) : I'm guessing since the thumb was broken, he wasn't feeling it.
dfosterf (10-Apr) : Looking for guidance. Not feeling the thumb.
Mucky Tundra (10-Apr) : If they knew about it or not
Mucky Tundra (10-Apr) : I don't recall that he did which is why I asked.
