There sure seems to be a lot of chatter local and national about the Packers and Ted Thompson parting ways.

The Green Bay Packers don’t need an overhaul, but they do need a jolt.

They’ve flourished under general manager Ted Thompson’s guidance the last 13 years, and his steady-as-it-goes managerial style has imbued the franchise with a sense of stability and competence that has been to its advantage in the volatile NFL.

But in the last seven years, the Packers have failed to escape a kind of no-man’s land: They’ve been among the handful of best clubs in the league but there always has been a team or two better.

The window for Aaron Rodgers, while not yet small, is closing with each passing year. And Thompson, who turns 65 in January in a high-burnout business, is about to enter the final, lame-duck season of his contract in 2018.

So the time is right for change at the top of the Packers’ football operations. It would shake up the football side of the franchise from any complacency that subconsciously has crept in. It also would send a not-so-subtle message of urgency throughout the building, including the locker room.

The Packers could do worse than Ted Thompson, that's for sure. But they could also do better. Sometimes one has to take some risks in the never-ending endeavor for improvement.

You would think that if They were going to kick Ted upstairs(scouting) or replace him altogether, they would have already did it.
Why would he be working out future contracts with players?

Doesn't make sense, unless Elliot Wolf or someone else in the organization has already taken over behind scenes and they are just waiting for the right time.

Maybe they are going to have Ted fire everyone, then let him go as well.🤣

Monday will tell a whole lot!!!!

But I'm sticking with my prediction that Thompson plays out his current contract (which ends when the 2018 seasons ends according to Mark Murphy), and Thompson steps down to the scout level as a side hobby to keep him busy and we get a new GM from these three: Russ Ball, Eliot Wolf, Brian Gutekunst

beast (14h) : Probably no SB topic as people are wore out talking about the Chiefs, Refs and Eagles
Zero2Cool (14h) : Packers reportedly have their new LB coach, promoting Sean Duggan to that role
Zero2Cool (19h) : WR Cooper Kupp is being traded.
packerfanoutwest (4-Feb) : why is there no SB Prediction topic?

Mucky Tundra (30-Jan) : Now that's a thought, maybe they're looking at the college ranks? Maybe not head coaches but DC/assistant DCs with league experience?
beast (30-Jan) : College Coaches wouldn't want that publicly, as it would hurt recruiting and they might not get the job.
beast (30-Jan) : I thought they were supposed to publicly announce them, at least the NFL ones. Hafley was from college, so I believe different rules.
Mucky Tundra (30-Jan) : Who knows who they're interviewing? I mean, nobody knew about Hafley and then out of nowhere he was hired
beast (30-Jan) : I wonder what's taking so long with hiring a DL coach, 2 of the 3 known to interview have already been hired elsewhere.

buckeyepackfan (26-Jan) : I forgot, they corrected the call a week later. Lol btw HAPPY BIRTHDAY dhazer!
buckeyepackfan (26-Jan) : That brings up the question, why wasn't Nixon down by contact? I think that was the point Kanata was making.
buckeyepackfan (26-Jan) : Turnovers rule, win the turnover battle, win the game.
packerfanoutwest (26-Jan) : well, he was
