Now is the time to scout and evaluate this years college seniors . I opened this thread so that members would have a thread to post about upcoming talent .

It may just be that Louisville QB or that Tennessee RB or that Arizona CB , we can research the name if you don't know it . Please post about that player you were impressed with .

I'll be paying special attention moving forward .

Love Mayfield. Love John Kelly from Tennessee and Miller the WR from Memphis.

Ted Thompson sits on his hands per former GM: "because they’ve had 25 fricking years of great quarterbacks. Of course it works. Try it without a special quarterback."

About 1/3 of the players taken in the first round in 2017 were seniors. Those that were Sr's tend to be guys who didn't play for one of the 5 power conference teams. What kind of messes up the numbers are the kids who redshirt a season while in college because of injury or transfer.

This year that number might be a lot smaller than we are used to.

I'm half (sorta) watching South Florida (USF)vs Texas Tech,
Two USF players stood out as interesting (though I'm talking later in the draft).

rSR. DT Deadrin Senat, who reminds me of a heavier, stronger version of DT Christian Ringo, with Ringo like quickness (though doesn't quite use the quickness as well as Ringo), and almost no DT chases plays from behind like Ringo sometimes did.

rJr. WR/tweener Tyre McCants, is a 5'11" tall, 235lb slot WR, who people think could also play RB. His body looks like young Eddie Lacy, they like to use him on quick passes like Stanford did with Ty Montgomery and his routes are slow but seem crisp like James Jones... and while he seems to lack some speed (for a true WR), he's got a very nice physical part to his game, and coaches believe he can play RB and I think he plays like a RB once he gets the ball in his hands. He seems like a WR/TE/RB tweener. He doesn't go down easy and a very willing zone blocker... I haven't seen him ask to drive block, so I don't know how he is in that aspect. Though his numbers look like TE numbers... but he's been on a pretty good offense with them spreading the ball around.

As the 2018 NFL Draft approaches, QBs seen to be getting the most attention. It is speculated that the Jets traded with the Colts to get the #3 pick in order to get a QB. 4 QBs have been talked about the most, but the one who will be chosen first is still a mystery.

RB S.Barkley out of Penn State U. is expected to be the first RB picked in the draft.

At this point, GB will get to pick 4 of the top 100 players in this years draft. Who BG will choose is a closely guarded secret. [biggrin]

beast (8h) : I believe it's technically against the CBA rules, but Jerry just calls it a simple unofficial chat... and somehow gets away with it.
beast (8h) : Jerry Jones is infamous for ̶n̶e̶g̶o̶t̶i̶a̶t̶i̶n̶g̶ chatting with players one on one... and going around the agent.
