I sorta agree with him, I think a lot of people have talked about how athletics get into a weekly rhythm which includes their bodies adapting to what ever you throw their way, but almost cutting that rhythm in half (from 7 to 4 day week) can majority screw that rhythm up. Even the extra long week after that screws up the rhythm, even though their is more time to heal, it still throws the rhythm off which might be harder on the athletes, at least mentally if not also physically.
If the players got to vote, I honestly think a high percentage of the players would reject Thursday and International games because it effects their weekly pattern and rhythm of how they prepare or they have to change it up from a normal week.
I still think if they were truly interested in players safety, that would add an extra bye week before Thursday Night games. Which might also help them make more money as they would be extending the regular season by a week and therefore possible for more money from TV contracts as it covers another week.
Edit: Also it creates other unfair advantages, such as Bengals came off a Thursday game, while the Packers game off a Sunday Night game. Packers at minimum should of had a day game if they were playing someone with extra rest like that.
Then again that's also true this week with the Bears getting a bye week and the Packers playing a Monday Night game. So Bears get 14 days, to the Packers 6 days. And after that the Ravens will also be coming off their bye week.
