I mean, Montgomery's as much a WR as a RB but I still expected them to keep 7 WRs. 5 is kinda crazy IMO, especially with the talent we had there. We're NOT going to have many WRs on our PS after teams start poaching.

Come week 2 they might have 6 WRs again as Allison comes off his suspension.

Well Janis has stepped up in playoffs games before.

With the spread offenses in college there are a lot more talented WRs and there are numerous teams that have fans worried about another team "poaching" a WR that they didn't keep.

Heck if all the WRs went unclaimed, do we even know which ones they would invite back to the Practice Squad? Probably not, but if one gets claimed, then we will say it was that one, mean that one might of been 4th on the Packers list of inviting to be Practice Squad members.

Also if we are using TEs more and throwing to Montgomery more than we usually throw to RBs even the #4 WR isn't going to be much a part of any gameplan and probably won't be seeing many consistent snaps from scrimmage.

TBH I like him better as a 10-15 carry back that lines up as a WR as many snaps as RB. Better utilizes his dual threat talents.

GB's Depth Chart today list :

5 WR's , 5 RB/FB's , 3 TE's

With this current lineup, Skills positions on the Practice Squad will be more important than ever , especially at WR . When/How can we learn just who is on the Practice Squad ?
