Two problems. The amount of the contract. The age and decline.

21st highest RB contract? There are 32 teams so that would mean James was paid better than 11 other teams top back.

There would be 64 backs among the 32 teams if you're counting backups. James was in the top third. Way too much.

You've already seen what Rodney said and the comments to it. All trolls including Rodney? No. Just non homers who care about the Packers.

993 total yards and 5 tds in 2015 and you sign him to a max of 3 mil/year. We spent 3+ times as much for Sam Shields to play half a game last year.

We played Knile Davis, Christine Michael, Ty Montgomery and Don Jackson at RB. None of those guys knew the offense for the RB position very well. That is Packers Ted talk right there. Stick to what we know even if it isn't good enough. Geesh.

There is a huge difference... the difference is you will find a way to bitch about it no matter what happens and you always do. That's not like Rodney... they can make a move that Rodney likes.... but no matter what happens you will find fault that's a huge difference and that's what makes you the troll of this site.

You say you want FA vets... Then Ted Thompson signs and then you complain about how much it cost... it never ends.... you will find something to complain about. .. that's your goal and you've stated you hate the ra rate Packers fans, your are the ba ba Packer fan.... just as blind and biased as they are, but in the opposite direction

The whole thread is still stupidity over a small percentage of contract ... there is more dead cap space then Stark earn this last year. But we're stupidity talking about Starks because the troll is trying to stir the pot.

Rodney and I are very similar. I don't rip everything. The pervasive mindset of this org deserves to be ripped, so I rip it. He rips what he believes needs to be ripped, also. Just as Bob McGinn does.

If I don't like the way we operate, and I don't, then it follows most of what I have to post is going to be unflattering toward the org. The converse is also true. You buy the company line so it follows you are a more agreeable happy fan.

Loved the Peppers acquisition. I really loved it for one season...Possibly, two. Despised it for this year and would be out of my mind if they bring him back again like Barfarn wants.

I will despise our offseason if it's the typical do nothing off season. I already hate that it appears the only change in coaching is Clements leaving and hot McGarigle joining.

Love the release of Starks. Love it! Late but love it.
Disappointed Sam had to go but can't count on him.

Hoping Peppers is done. The Ted Thompson fan mindset would be to be okay with overpaying him since he knows the D and we have nobody else

Hoping Clay is restructured. His cap number makes him uncuttable for one more season.

Really want to see some moves whether FA signing or trades. I would like a first wave signing. Prefer a CB because if we don't get a top flight CB it all but guarantees we reach for a CB in Round 1 and it will be sold, again, as BPA. Tired of failed high defensive draft choices and listening to how we need to wait 3 years before we can expect them to make a difference.

Tired of injuries. Softest team in the league almost annually.

Hated our preseason approach last preseason. Paid for it with 4-6.

Want to see a focus on 2017. Not just a focus on the next 3 seasons.

Get Logan Ryan from the Pats and use your 1st rounder on a true BPA whether Dalvin Cook, OJ Howard, Williams from Clemson, or one of the other top WRs.

Time to see surfable waves or at least ripples in the water instead of the same stagnant sea.

It isn't worth getting worked up.

Take a deep breath clinch your teeth and move on. Please.

This thread has been teetering all day. Keep the focus on Starks. Talking about the RB position as a whole is reasonable too.

If you know about Uffda basic opinion, he doesn't like the calm passive approach, he wants to be more aggressive and sign more guys... which comes with bigger contracts... and when there are bigger contract (in this case for Starks) Uffda doesn't like that either....

So it's one mega cluster fuck circle... that no matter what happens he finds a negative way to spin everything.... if people aren't signed, then they're not trying hard enough and they're horrible at their job... if they are signed then it's they're bad deals and they're horrible at their job.

That's what the first post of this thread is really about... Ted Thompson being horrible at his job according to Uffda.... but because it's spun into a Starks contract we're suppose to threat it any differently than the 100s or 1,000s or other post/threads Uffda used to say Thompson is horrible at his job? .................. Why are we suppose to treat it differently? It's the same old shit that he always post... nothing is different about it.... other than Starks name is in the header, but the post is about Thompson, o Starks

I love ya man but you have to stop attacking other members.

Zero2Cool (1h) : NFL thought it would get more attention week preceding Super Bowl.
Zero2Cool (1h) : Yes, the Pro Bowl. It was played Sunday before Super Bowl from 2010-2022
packerfanoutwest (1h) : pro bowl
Zero2Cool (1h) : From 2010 to 2022, it was played on the Sunday before the Super Bowl
Zero2Cool (1h) : They moved it to the BYE week before Super Bowl several years ago.
packerfanoutwest (1h) : it was always after the SB.....
beast (11h) : Though I stop following pro bowl years ago
beast (11h) : I thought the pro game was before the Super Bowl?
packerfanoutwest (11h) : ok now for the Pro Bowl Game in Hawaii
TheKanataThrilla (12h) : If I was Philly I would try to end it instead of punting it
Mucky Tundra (12h) : VICTORY! We have (moral) victory!
TheKanataThrilla (12h) : Hey they mentioned that we 3-peted
Mucky Tundra (13h) : seems to me the 49ers should have traded Aiyuk when they had the chance
Mucky Tundra (13h) : if the Eagles get it down to the 1, do they Tush Push or give it to Barkley?
TheKanataThrilla (13h) : 49ers have a money problem if they want to sign their QB
Mucky Tundra (13h) : Wait for real? Didn't he just get an extension two years ago?
Zero2Cool (13h) : 49ers gonna trade Deebo. Interesting
TheKanataThrilla (13h) : Replays always never seem to show the holdings
TheKanataThrilla (13h) : Great throw by Hurts
Mucky Tundra (13h) : Where Carter falls prey to bad off the field influences (to be clear, not saying he'd clip someone though)
Mucky Tundra (13h) : Had Carter not gone to Philly were they already had a lot of old college friends, he ends up in a similar spot to Aaron Hernandez
Mucky Tundra (13h) : I think some of his coaches told scouts to stay away
Mucky Tundra (13h) : the street racing incident+conditioning and motivation problems
beast (13h) : Then Carter was street racing, where the other car crashed and people died... and other teams were scared to pick Carter for some reason
beast (13h) : I think the Saints traded up, giving their next year 1st to the Eagles, and then they sucked and Eagles got the 10th overall pick
packerfanoutwest (13h) : wtf Barkley?
TheKanataThrilla (13h) : Getting Carter and Nolan Smith in the first round in 2023 was pretty darn good
Mucky Tundra (13h) : for some reason i'm thinking of a draft where the Eagles where in the mid 20s and a top player fell all the way to them
TheKanataThrilla (13h) : I think so. I would need to look it up. Think it may have been Carolina's pick.
Mucky Tundra (13h) : i'm not sure who i'm thinking of now
Mucky Tundra (13h) : oh fuck me i messed that up
Zero2Cool (13h) : Jordan Davis was 13th overall
Zero2Cool (13h) : Carter was 9th overall
Zero2Cool (13h) : Eagles had 15th and 10th selections, moved to 13 and 9 to get Davis and Carter back to back
Zero2Cool (13h) : Eagles traded up for Carter, didn't they?
Mucky Tundra (14h) : Obviously he was a huge risk but getting a top 5 talent on the dline in the mid 20s is fortuitous
Mucky Tundra (14h) : Jalen Carter falling into their lap certainly helps
TheKanataThrilla (14h) : And we could only wish to have this type of D
TheKanataThrilla (14h) : It's not like Philly has had low draft picks, but has managed to get themselves a top notch pass rush. We spend so much draft capital of D
packerfanoutwest (14h) : another crap halftime show
TheKanataThrilla (14h) : I think it is over, but then I think of Atlanta and want Philly to go in with the same intensity in the second half
Mucky Tundra (14h) : And with a Pass Rush that might as well be on a milk cartoon and no Jaire
Martha Careful (14h) : I cant help but feel good about how well the Packers D played in Philly during the playoffs
Mucky Tundra (14h) : this game is over
Mucky Tundra (14h) : This might be the kill shot here
Mucky Tundra (14h) : oh that's such a bad penalty for KC after getting the 3rd down stop
TheKanataThrilla (14h) : Philly DL has come to play
TheKanataThrilla (14h) : Ceoper DeJean with the INT scored...bad memories of draft night
Mucky Tundra (14h) : ok scratch that
Mucky Tundra (15h) : Game feels like last years Super Bowl: 49ers started off in control, moved the ball well but didn't have much of a lead to show for it
