Starks has at least shown the ability to run the ball at a high level. Saine has never done anything but have a fast 40 time.

yeah, I don't see all the hype on Saine, I don't recall anything he's done to catch my eye. Saine is also coming off an ACL, whichin most cases (aside from purple jesus) should slow him down a bit.

I think and hope this will be one of the more entertaining battles at Camp this year. One reason being, there is and has already been a debate, and second I think and hope there is going to be a big shift in the run game away from the outside zone and stretch plays keeping it a more downhill power blocking scheme. We saw a shift to that at the end of the season and it looked positive.

So what any of them did in the past doesn't really matter because that would mean a real different style and we have no idea which could be better. But as it stands now, there is no reason to believe any of them will be cut, unless we start bringing in more competition. Ted and Mike have show no shyness in carrying more players at a position. Has kept 3 FB on the roster, 5 TE. 4 Running backs would not be unheard of.

I have mixed feellings. First of all I am a little tired of Ted Thompson picking injured players....Starks. Don't remember if Saine had an injury hx or not. We have caught glimpses of what both these players can do. But like everyone is saying they need to stay healthy.

It will be interesting to see if Ted Thompson picks up a decent back in the draft. If he does, then these two men will have a real fight to stay on the team.
