I think with some QB hungry teams out there the Packers keep 3 QB's for at least 2 weeks, maybe longer.
The kid earned it. The position is so valuable you need quality depth at a low price.

Defensive lineman Brian Price, an undrafted free agent from Texas-San Antonio, was released at approximately 6:25 a.m. CDT, according to a league source. Price received a call from the Packers asking him to turn in his playbook.

It is lousy to get cut but when they wake you up to cut you that really stinks. Even though I had Price making the 53 I assumed it would be short lived.
