The Green Bay Packers' strangest pick of the 2016 draft was Cal receiver Trevor Davis. We now have some idea of what they were thinking. Here's how it breaks down.

I haven't seen anyone write he isn't NFL ready, and any 5th rounder will have that question mark surrounding them anyway.

He has speed, decent size, relatively big hands, and heretofore I haven't heard issues about his route running. He looks versatile, being able to run bubble screens and appears capable of playing outside too.

I'm not saying he's Jerry Rice, but considering he's a 5th round pick, what's not to like?

Well he looks pretty fast and they say he has good hands. If he's smart enough to learn the route tree he's a worthwhile project.

I'm not saying he's Jerry Rice, but considering he's a 5th round pick, what's not to like?

GB in their quest to find more speed at the WR position have brought in a lot of players. 99% of them haven't made it but that doesn't mean they can't keep trying. 5th round picks have almost as long of odds as SFAs anyway.

And who knows how bad Monty's ankle was. Bigby's ankle was apparently broken and weather not reported or not diagnosed as such. Can Monty be the same? I hope that ankle injury doesn't cost him his explosion, because he was looking like he could be special.

Count me as someone who's worried Ty's injury will hold him back in terms of developing. I really hope that's not the case. He's a great kid, but even if he can't play moving forward, which is the worst case scenario, he has the right attitude.
