Yes the opponent matters. That's never been in dispute. The above is not accurate either.

Detroit (2x), Dallas, Oakland (and Chicago as you said) had defenses ranging from mediocre to bad (16th in points and 14th in yards or worse). That's half the games after the bye.

By neither points nor yards have we played all three top defenses at any point this season, never mind after the bye. On points, Seattle and Kansas City were 1 and 3. We played both before the bye.

This past week was the first time the offense showed anything close to what we expect since the first few weeks of the season, regardless of the quality of opponent. This time around, they did it against a weak, albeit opportunistic, defense. Let's see if they can do it again against one of the NFL's best.

I use DVOA from football outsiders to measure team efficiency, we can argue about tidbits but is a LOT better than just points or yards allowed and all those crappy stats.

The top 3 defenses are : Denver, Carolina and Arizona. We played all 3 of them after the bye.

"Left Tackle-

Even if we do not get David Bakhtiari back, we should all feel more comfortable having JC Tretter manning left tackle than Don Barclay who let people by him so efficiently turnstiles were worried about being replaced by cardboard cutouts of his likeness."

Nice.

Keep writing like that, and Green Bay Radio stations will start calling "Packers Home" for 30 second sound bites, then eventually pre game analysis. Then More.

Really don't get why people don't have any faith in our defense. They've been doing phenomenal this season, even with how terrible the offense has been. They're not dominating but they're solid and barring the occasional breakdown, make teams fight tooth and nail to get into the red zone. Turnover generation has been a disappointment, however.

If our offense plays like they did last week after the 1st quarter, this team has a very real shot to win it. If they can't put up more than 24 points, we're in trouble though. I can't see our defense giving up more than 24.

There's not much to say about that. 2, we do seem to have a propensity for giving up big gains at inopportune times. Now on that second point we do have times where we come up with big plays too but I think when we give up a first down on 3rd and 15 from their own 15 people remember that even though we force a punt later on the drive after stuffing a 3rd and 1 run. Big plays have a tendency to stand out and that's what fans remember.

Nobody is giving the Packers a chance to win this game. So i guess all that remains is for the Packers to give all the reporters out there a big shitburger to eat.

One thing I'm pretty sure of...I'm pretty sure Arizona is happy they don't have to come to Lambeau this Sunday!

The game was there for the Packers and that's what I was saying with this rambling opening post. Good game.
