I get it now!
McCarthy is writing a book.
It's called, "Football for Dummies" and he's stuck on chapter one; SAND LOT FOOTBALL.🤣

My favourite comment is "The Packers route running philosophy seems to be - find the nearest DB and stand next to him. " On replays it often looks like it.

Putting on my tinfoil hat, could some of this perceived spat between MM and AR being played out on the field? Could MM be running crap plays in response to perceived slights by AR? Surely Mike should be smart enough to scheme WRs open?

Perhaps he's not really that smart.

I noticed them pointing out that Rodgers missed the slant on one play they analyzed. I can't remember the last time I saw him throw a slant pass. Can anyone else?? Has he thrown one this season?

When this offense was clicking 5 years ago, it was a quick, rhythm passing game, and Rodgers threw guys open. Since then, more and more has been put on Rodgers' shoulders to extend plays and be on the same page as his receivers. They finally leaned on this too much (and threw in the wonderful catalyst of simplifying the offense) and it's crumbled.

And now for my half-serious conspiracy theory: Rodgers doesn't have the touch (and therefore the confidence) he used to because the balls are too soft for his liking, since he can't over-inflate them anymore.

But yes, Aaron has NEVER sat there waiting for guys to "get open." He just delivers the ball anyway or throws them open. But he's not doing that anymore. I say he's standing there on purpose to spite Mike.

They’ve become far too dependent on Aaron Rodgers and his ability to go off-script and extend plays.

No, they haven't become "dependent" upon that. Aaron's just doing that, to be an asshole. He's purposely shaving points, because Mike won't give him the keys to the franchise.

Mike also does not have the balls to sit Aaron down.

McCarthy has even stated to the public, they don't scheme guys open they go after matchups.

I believe McCarthy's play calling ability has been overrated over the years because he had great QBs and very good and deep receiving corps. His weakness really started showing itself the last year or two against better defenses. When we had the depth so our #3 and #4 and #5 receivers were better than the #3 and #4 and #5 coverage guys of the opponents. lately, when we face teams who can matchup to our #1 and #2 we have serious struggles offensively.

The world needs ditch diggers too Danny!!!

I find it very funny and ironic that we criticize our offense for running routes that are too simple and yet Jeff Janis can't play.

He needs to be facing the QB and the ball has to hit him in the bread basket. Still, he struggles to catch while running.
