The sale of engraved paving stones is not at all new. I have known of churches, fraternities, as well as city projects that have raised money in this manner. In fact, I can recall that the city of Norfolk,Va. raised money this way when they built their Scope (coliseum)/Chrysler Hall complex back in the 70's. That beautiful complex still stands to this day, along with the original paving stones. They still represent the pride that members of the community had and still have.
I have no problem with the Vikings giving their community a similar opportunity show their support for something that they take pride in. Perhaps the Packers will build , or already have built a park or stadium addition that will offer supporters a chance to do the same thing. Furthermore, I fail to see the need to bash Minnesota or any other American location. There is such a thing as carrying a sports rivalry too far.
