Exercise: Imagine pre-season didn't start yet. Make a list of the starters that would hurt the most our team if they are lost for the season.

Here's mine:

1. A. Rodgers
2. Bakthiari/Bulaga
3. S. Shields (I don't trust the others to cover the best WR)
4. E. Lacy
5. J. Nelson
6. R. Rodgers
7. R. Cobb
8. M.Crosby

I'm surprised only shields is from the defense, CM3, all the LBs,DLs, Safeties, CBs, they all rotate a lot and I think any of them can be lost without a huge impact in our season. I'm not sure if that speaks well or bad about our defense.

Luis.

Jordy was #7 on Rodney's list.

Ted Thompson sits on his hands per former GM: "because they’ve had 25 fricking years of great quarterbacks. Of course it works. Try it without a special quarterback."

Losing Jordy hurts bad, but think of it this way.

Dropoff between Jordy and Cobb is low
Dropoff between Cobb and Adams, with what we know from Adams last year is Moderate. Potential for Adams to turn that into low.
Dropoff between what we know about Adams to what we know about Montgomery is low

Issue isn't so much that there's a huge dropoff beneath Jordy on the depthchart (and beneath cobb, etc etc etc) since the roster is extremely deep in that position, but that unless if Adams turns in a 2014 Cobb performance, it puts pressure on everyone underneath by not having the one-two Cobb-Jordy punch. Having Cobb-Jordy made it easier on everyone else.

Next man up. Hope these young guys pull through.

Walter Football has Jordy Nelson as the 4th most overrated player in the NFL.

4.) Jordy Nelson, WR, Packers

Jordy Nelson has eclipsed 1,300 yards in each of the past two seasons. In the past four years, he has scored a whopping 43 touchdowns. Thus, it may seem like a blasphemous act that I'd place him so high on the overrated list, but he definitely belongs here.

Nelson is a solid receiver. Again, just because I've designated him as overrated doesn't mean I think he sucks. He's just not as great as everyone thinks he is, and based on the NFL Top 100 Players list, many hold him in extremely high regard. He was actually voted as the 18th-best player in the NFL, which is just absurd. Perhaps he's the 18th-best fantasy player, but in real life? No way.

Nelson wouldn't even come close to his crazy stats without Aaron Rodgers, and there is evidence behind that. When Rodgers missed time in 2013, Nelson was limited to 61 or fewer yards in five of the seven games in which his starting quarterback was out of the lineup. Does that sound like the No. 18 player in the NFL to you?

I bet most opponents didn't overrate him - more like they thought they could handle him and couldn't.

A lot of names mentioned in just these few posts who NO WAY would be on my list. Crosby, for example, kickers who are 95%, maybe even 100% of Crosby's quality are all over the place looking for teams to sign with, and many more will be cut soon. Look at Pittsburgh when Suisham went down. Raji? Do I even need to say anything hahahaha? Shields is good, but we are about as loaded at Corner as we are at WR. And Richard Rodgers? Arguably Quarless is better.

My List: - Everybody's #1 is Aaron Rodgers.

2. Sitton
3. Clay Matthews - People shouldn't be so negative about him.
4. Lacy - If you assume we should have a power runner, there is none better.
5. Shields - even if we do have good replacements
6. Bulaga/Bakhtiari - just because we have so little backing them up; They, Bakhtiari especially, are not that special.
7. Daniels - arguably the ONLY quality D Lineman
8. Peppers - Even in old age and with a lot of decent backups, he is still unique and great.
9. Barrington - Look at ILB before he stepped up - now it's better.
10.Any other O Lineman - Continuity there more than any other position is important to success, plus, we have a lot of real question marks for backups.

Edit: oops I forgot Nelson and Cobb - probably about 7 to 10.

beast (8h) : But the Return from IR designations had to be applied by the 53 man cutdown.
beast (8h) : It's a new rule, so it's not clear, but my understanding was that they could be IR'd at any time
Mucky Tundra (13h) : *had to be IRed at 53
Mucky Tundra (13h) : beast, I thought the designate return from IR players had to be IR at cutdowns to 53, not before
beast (14h) : It's a brand new rule, either last season or this season, prior, all pre-season IRs were done for the season
beast (14h) : But the Packers would have to use one for their return from IR spots on him, when they cut down to 53.
beast (14h) : I think the NFL recently changed the IR rules, so maybe the season might not be over for OL Glover.
Zero2Cool (14h) : Packers star Howton, first NFLPA prez, dies at 95 😔
dfosterf (18h) : Apparently it is too complicated for several to follow your simple instructions, but I digress
dfosterf (18h) : Zero- Did you see what I posted about Voice of Reason and his wife? She posted over at fleaflicker that they are both "In"
Zero2Cool (7-Aug) : Well, not crazy, it makes sense. Crazy I didn't notice/find it earlier
Zero2Cool (7-Aug) : it's crazy how one stored procedure to get data bogged everything down for speed here

Zero2Cool (6-Aug) : I thought that was the Lions OL
Mucky Tundra (6-Aug) : Travis Glover placed on IR; seasons over for him
Zero2Cool (6-Aug) : found bad sql in database, maybe site faster now?
dfosterf (5-Aug) : I'm going to call that a good move.
Zero2Cool (4-Aug) : Packers sign CB Corey Ballentine
Zero2Cool (4-Aug) : I'm not sure how to kill the draft order just yet so it's not so confusing.
Mucky Tundra (4-Aug) : *to be able
Mucky Tundra (4-Aug) : and because it's not a dynasty league (which makes a lot more sense to be ability to trade picks)
Mucky Tundra (4-Aug) : Oh I know; I was just exploring and it blew my mind that you could trade picks because of the whole reordering thing
Mucky Tundra (4-Aug) : Zero, I think I preferred my offer: your 1st for my 15th rounder
Zero2Cool (4-Aug) : Keep in mind, we do a draft reorder once all members locked in
Zero2Cool (4-Aug) : You can have my 12th Rd for your 2nd round
Mucky Tundra (4-Aug) : Hey i didn't know we could trade picks in fantasy
Mucky Tundra (3-Aug) : Update: Rock has tried a cheese curd, promises it's not his last
Zero2Cool (3-Aug) : watch it!! lol
Mucky Tundra (3-Aug) : you're right, we never did leave, the site just went down :P
Mucky Tundra (3-Aug) : Rock claims to have never eaten a cheese curd
Zero2Cool (3-Aug) : We did not leave.
Mucky Tundra (3-Aug) : Family Night! WE ARE SO BACK!
Mucky Tundra (2-Aug) : To this day, I'm still miffed about his 4 TD game against Dallas on Thanksgiving going to waste
Martha Careful (2-Aug) : Congratulations Sterling Sharpe. He was terrific and I loved watching him play.
beast (2-Aug) : I believe it's technically against the CBA rules, but Jerry just calls it a simple unofficial chat... and somehow gets away with it.
beast (2-Aug) : Jerry Jones is infamous for ̶n̶e̶g̶o̶t̶i̶a̶t̶i̶n̶g̶ chatting with players one on one... and going around the agent.
Mucky Tundra (1-Aug) : Oo just saw a blurb saying that Dallas negotiated directly with Parsons and not through his agent
Mucky Tundra (1-Aug) : I assumed that both guys will get paid, just a matter of when or how we get there
Zero2Cool (1-Aug) : McLaurin nor Micah going anywhere. They will get money
Mucky Tundra (1-Aug) : the Synder years or do they take care of one of their own?
Mucky Tundra (1-Aug) : Do the Commanders risk losing a top WR with an emerging QB just because he's turning 30 and potentially risk damaging the rebuild from
Mucky Tundra (1-Aug) : Turns 30 this September, plays at a high level and Washington has some cap space I believe
Mucky Tundra (1-Aug) : More interesting is Washington with Terry McLaurin
