Can Ron Zook Resurrect Packers Special Teams?

One thing is certain; the 2015 version of Green Bay Packers special teams cannot do any worse than last year, and must do substantially better for the team to represent the NFC in Super Bowl 50

I think Zook was quotes as saying he's hoping they'll be "luckier" this year. lol

Let's just say my hopes aren't high. If Montgomery can field punts, that will excite me.

How can something be resurrected that was never alive? I'm having trouble getting by that little tidbit.

Special Teams ARE, not Special Teams IS.

It's four separate units, not counting extra points and field goals.

Packer Punt Returning has been borderline great. Punt Coverage has been decent. Kickoff Returning has been slightly below average. and Kickoff Coverage has been well below average - just my recollection of each of these. Coincidentally (or not), the last two are the ones where coaching probably has the most to do with it.

I think better/more athletic personnel - brought about by better depth on defense and at wide receiver - will improve things. As for Zook's coaching, my only knowledge of him is at University of Illinois, and that wasn't very impressive.

If Montgomery can field punts, that will excite me.

And there are others to possibly compete with him at kick returner as well. Like Hyde, Abbrederis, RB Neal, Janis (maybe Cobb), Rollins, etc. And I really want to see more of Janis speed on kick returns.

I think Montgomery will be a good WR, but I'm wondering if he'll be able live up to the super hype of him as a returner or not.

It's a steep mountain to climb but we gotta hope for the best.
I'm not worried so much about the Packers return game, more so about their coverage and kicking game.
Their field goal protection really must improve.
I don't know if Zook is the guy but change was in order.
