Even if he still has something in the tank, would he even consider being a 4th option behind Jordy, Cobb and Adams? I'm not against adding talent at WR since we have some question marks behind those 3 but the ship sailed on Jennings two years ago.

I'm betting his name will come up.
In discussions.

Another team with a greater need will probably sign him for more then what Ted will offer.

Who knows, might be able to dust off the old Jersey.

Something else I thought to be of interest here is Jennings was listed on the transaction report as failing a physical.

I'll skip over all the "he got what he deserved" talk, although I feel green bay is a little bit vindicated. Jennings still has a couple good years left in him if we didn't have Adams as an up and comer I'd say give his agent a call. But just like Andre Johnson I think the money is better spent elsewhere and the playing time is better invested in Adams.

I don't know, but I remember the Hawk post cut pod cast talked about the failed physical listing, and I think (not sure) Hawk said something like they didn't give him a physical but NFL rules said teams had to list physical or not....

So I'm purely guessing that failing physical could also be code for "not given a physical" at least in the context of offseason released/cut players... but that's not an official option so they go with the closest physical option which is failed physical (since he didn't/couldn't pass the physical, that he wasn't given).

Of course Hawk noted that if he was given a physical he wouldn't pass it at the moment because he was coming off an ankle surgery but said he probably could in a couple of weeks... but I got the impression that teams also used the term "failing physical" for times when they didn't even give a physical.

The Dolphins tried to throw huge money at Cobb... then traded their #1 WR away... I could see them (or even the Saints or Raiders) offering a cheaper contract to Jennings... and that's where Jennings wanted to go in FA a couple years ago... my understanding is Joe Philbin didn't have say so in the roster but their former GM did when Jennings was a FA. Now that they went after Cobb, I think that might suggest Philbin has more say in the roster under the new coach so maybe Jennings will find a home there.

The biggest problem I see is that he disparaged Aaron. Hard to come back, might be awkward in the locker room.

Greg Jennings isn't the same player he once was. He's lost a step although still runs really good routes. That's usually what happens to players around his age. No disrespect, and appreciate his time with Packers, but I wouldn't bring him back.

What would you sign him for?

beast (30-Jan) : College Coaches wouldn't want that publicly, as it would hurt recruiting and they might not get the job.
beast (30-Jan) : I thought they were supposed to publicly announce them, at least the NFL ones. Hafley was from college, so I believe different rules.
Mucky Tundra (30-Jan) : Who knows who they're interviewing? I mean, nobody knew about Hafley and then out of nowhere he was hired
beast (30-Jan) : I wonder what's taking so long with hiring a DL coach, 2 of the 3 known to interview have already been hired elsewhere.

Zero2Cool (22-Jan) : Still HC positions available out there. I wonder if Hafley pops up for one
Zero2Cool (22-Jan) : Trent Baalke is out as the Jaguars GM.
dfosterf (22-Jan) : Jeff Hafley would have been a better choice, fortunately they don't know that. Someone will figure that out next off season
