Sure execution matters, so does realizing what the team does good and what they don't. The team has not been good at power running. We went 4 plays against Det at the one and couldn't ram it in. So after trying once to ram it down their throats fine, after the players failed to execute enough to score, lining up in the same formation and only change the ball carrier isn't good coaching. Do something different, motion somebody to try and move the defense into a different alignment. Spread the defense out more.

You game plan based on what you believe from tape or that week of prep. It was a trial and error, and it didn't work.

Again, I get what you're getting at, I just feel despite whatever issues in play calling and formations you want to fault McCarthy for, the team still had ample opportunities to distance themselves in the first half, or win it in the 4th which the players squandered.

I can't get enough of the praising of MM as a "great coach".

If this was auto racing and you had a car that was 50 more horsepower than every other car and all you did is get somewhat close to winning racing championships it would be a complete and utter embarrassment.

MM has Aaron Rodgers and consistently loses with him to the praise of some fans who frankly do not get it.

This team should be able to match what New England has done over the years. Is Tom Brady, right now, better than Aaron Rodgers? No freaking way. However, the Pats have been in NFC Championships and SB's on a regular basis over the years. The Packers? LOL.

It is shameful to lose as we do year after year. When will you ever wake up to the fact MM is NOT a good coach? When? After a loss like that and you still can't see it. Still? Hope is fading that you will ever see it.

Aaron Rodger's passer rating Sunday was a 55.8. 2 ints in field goal range. Missed Jordy in the endzone. You're looking at 10 points right there lost on account of his arm.

I'm not pinning the blame on him by any means. Just pointing out that this tunnel vision witch hunt directed towards Mike McCarthy is a gross oversimplification of what transpired. There was a roster full of contributors to both the success and collapse that the Packers saw on Sunday, not just one guy wearing a headset.

A special teams coach gets a fake field goal for a touchdown, and an onside kick in the NFC championship game, and doesn't get fired? Something stinks at 1265 Lombardi Avenue.

I don't know if I buy into conspiracy theories. Maybe with Mike because at the time I think he was weighing a job opening in Seattle and may have been distracted? Regardless, I find it pretty unlikely.

My bigger point is that we've seen 3 different coaches with underwhelming performances, not just MM. Holmgren couldn't win in Dallas. Didn't they lose to a terrible Colts team one of those 13-3 seasons? Even belicheck had a 16-0 team lose in the SB to a 9-7 team. It happens. Do the Packers have flaws, shortcomings, maybe even trends? Sure, but it's not just them.

Then when it matters most, the self shitting snowballs.

Yeah, "It happens." With McCarthy, it happens consistently.

Dakota...you are right. Slocum should've been immediately canned. ST's have been so poor in Green Bay over the years. I'm not sure why that never seems to change?

You had to be sweating it out with 5 minutes to go in the game, wondering where you could go troll next.

Lang and Sitton were made available to Slocum so the improved the quality of player he had to work with.

Going into the playoffs, with Rodgers injury, the team started keeping Tolzien active, so that took one player away from Slocum.

But just because Mike McCarthy is not Bill Belichick does not mean he's not a good coach, though. I'm sure every team would love to have a coach as good as Belichick.

Even though there are some things I dislike about McCarthy, namely how bad he turned the run blocking of this team, his not putting away closer games when they have the chance, and that he doesn't seem to have the personality to energize players and team on the sidelines.

The only coaches I would consider replacing him with would be Sean Peyton, John Harbaugh, and maybe Andy Reid.

Zero2Cool (15h) : sounds like Packers don't get good compensation, Jaire staying
dfosterf (18h) : Nobody coming up with a keep, but at x amount
dfosterf (18h) : Trade, cut or keep
dfosterf (19h) : that from Jaire
dfosterf (19h) : My guess is the Packers floated the concept of a reworked contract via his agent and agent got a f'
Zero2Cool (19h) : Yes, and that is why I think Rob worded it how he did. Rather than say "agent"
dfosterf (20h) : Same laws apply. Agent must present such an offer to Jaire. Cannot accept or reject without presenting it
Zero2Cool (20h) : I'm thinking that is why Rob worded it how he did.
dfosterf (20h) : The Packers can certainly still make the offer to the agent
dfosterf (20h) : Laws of agency and definition of fiduciary responsibility
dfosterf (20h) : Jaire is open to a reduced contract without Jaire's permission
dfosterf (20h) : The agent would arguably violate the law if he were to tell the Packers
Zero2Cool (20h) : That someone ... likely the agent.
Zero2Cool (20h) : So, Jaire has not been offered nor rejected a pay reduction, but someone says he'd decline.
Zero2Cool (20h) : Demovksy says t was direct communication with someone familiar with Jaire’s line of thinking at that moment.
Zero2Cool (20h) : Demovsky just replied to me a bit ago. Jaire hasn't said it.
dfosterf (22h) : Of course, that depends on the definition of "we"
dfosterf (22h) : We have been told that they haven't because he wouldn't accept it. I submit we don't know that
dfosterf (22h) : What is the downside in making a calculated reduced offer to Jaire?
Zero2Cool (15-Apr) : Packers are receiving interest in Jaire Alexander but a trade is not imminent
Zero2Cool (15-Apr) : Jalen Ramsey wants to be traded. He's never happy is he?
Zero2Cool (15-Apr) : two 1sts in 2022 and two 2nd's in 2023 and 2024
Zero2Cool (15-Apr) : Packers had fortunate last three drafts.
dfosterf (15-Apr) : I may have to move
dfosterf (15-Apr) : My wife just told the ancient Japanese sushi dude not enough rice under his fish
Zero2Cool (14-Apr) : I think a dozen is what I need
dfosterf (14-Apr) : Go fund me for this purpose just might work. A dozen nurses show up at 1265 to provide mental health assistance.
dfosterf (14-Apr) : Maybe send a crew of Angels to the Packers draft room on draft day.
Zero2Cool (14-Apr) : I am the Angel that gets visited.
dfosterf (14-Apr) : Visiting Angels has a pretty good reputation
Zero2Cool (14-Apr) : what
Martha Careful (14-Apr) : WINNING IT, not someone else losing it. The best victory though was re-uniting with his wife
Martha Careful (14-Apr) : The manner in which he won it was just amazing and wonderful. First blowing the lead then getting back, then blowing it. But ultimately
Zero2Cool (12-Apr) : I'm guessing since the thumb was broken, he wasn't feeling it.
dfosterf (10-Apr) : Looking for guidance. Not feeling the thumb.
Mucky Tundra (10-Apr) : If they knew about it or not
Mucky Tundra (10-Apr) : I don't recall that he did which is why I asked.
Zero2Cool (10-Apr) : Guessing they probably knew. Did he have cast or something on?
Mucky Tundra (10-Apr) : Did they know that at the time or was that something the realized afterwards?
Zero2Cool (9-Apr) : Van Ness played most of season with broken thumb
wpr (9-Apr) : yay
Zero2Cool (9-Apr) : Mark Murphy says Steelers likely to protect Packers game. Meaning, no Ireland
Zero2Cool (8-Apr) : Struggling to figure out what text editor options are needed and which are 'nice to have'
Mucky Tundra (8-Apr) : *CHOMP CHOMP CHOMP*
Zero2Cool (2-Apr) : WR who said he'd break Xavier Worthy 40 time...and ran slower than you
Mucky Tundra (2-Apr) : Who?
Zero2Cool (2-Apr) : Texas’ WR Isaiah Bond is scheduled to visit the Bills, Browns, Chiefs, Falcons, Packers and Titans starting next week.
Zero2Cool (2-Apr) : Spotting ball isn't changing, only measuring distance is, Which wasn't the issue.
Zero2Cool (2-Apr) : The spotting of the ball IS the issue. Not the chain gang.
Mucky Tundra (2-Apr) : Will there be a tracker on the ball or something?
