Packers very likely to sign WR Cobb even if it doesn't happen during the regular season

Is it plausible that the Green Bay Packers would let Randall Cobb walk in free agency this offseason?

Sure, it's plausible. But very unlikely.

When he was drafted there were a few members here who thought for sure they would wildcat with him and let him pull up from the run to throw the ball. One pass his rookie season. that's it. Even when Rodgers was injured last year they didn't have Cobb throw the ball.

If he wants every last dime he can get because he is greedy or if he is one of those "your offer is insulting to my talent level" type a-holes then he will test the market. Bottom line is he will most likely be cashing a check for around 12 million and averaging another 6 million a year for the next 4 or 5 years. He's a hell of a #2, but when the clock is running down and you need a first down or a TD against top-end coverage, is there anybody in the league you'd take over Rodgers to Nelson? Cobb's important to the Packers but not irreplaceable. I don't see anybody on the Packers roster that could replace Nelson anytime soon. Ted's shown year after year when he releases our star WRs that the rookies he's brought in are maturing into cheap, effective replacements. Give Adams a year or two and he could provide a very similar skillset to Cobb.
