"Sources" are telling JSO that the Packers are goign to stand pat presumably because "they like the guys they've got". Great.

Boyd is being mentioned as a Raji replacement. Love that guy but not sure NT is right for him. Square peg/round hole... at least desperation brought it on this time. Boyd and Pennel. Those are your NT's, as of now. Wow.

I'm cool with it for now, but it is the day after giving up anywhere close to 200 yards rushing in the season opener, I will be less than enthused.

I think we are going to see a lot more 4/3 looks from this D.

2 DL is not a preferable option to me, especially if the 2 you would employ in that scheme aren't stars or big guys who are going to chew up blockers. We're advocating letting 2-3 OL be free to take on our, and I mean our (think about it) LB's. We do NOT want that. Our LB's aren't very good with 3 DL's in front of them. That cupboard is awfully bare. Missing on Perry, Worthy, Jones, and now seemingly Thornton, too really puts us in a bind up front. Guys like Luther Robinson and Carlos Gray might actually make this team.

I'd rather see the 4-3 employed with guys like Perry and Peppers playing elephant as was talked about many months ago by the Packers.

However, if you do that, you take Matthews off the edge away and that's not good either.

It just sucks we can't hit on DL up high in the draft. Boyd and Pennel... A 6th and a UDFA from Colorado St-Pueblo.

I can't call Perry a miss just yet especially if he is effective this year which I believe he can be. The Peppers signing could also serve as a wake up call to Perry. Jury is still out on Jones (I guess I am the only one who thinks he is playing well) and Thornton is fresh out the draft. Not anywhere close to calling him a miss until next season he is shows no signs of improvement.

Still this injury just plain stinks no matter what type of defense we play. We gave this guy a one year show me what you got deal and he is done for the season before it even starts. Really tough break.

I just checked in and got the word about Raji. I'd never wish ill on any Packer, but ........ this is the absolute best thing that could have happened for the Packers defense - and FORGET THIS CRAP ABOUT BRINGING IN PICKETT!

Boyd or Pennell, either were doing MUCH better at NT than Raji. I don't know anything about Guion, but if he is another big clod, forget him too.

I heard something about a knee injury for Brad Jones. Any truth to that? Talk about addition by subtraction, this is it big time!

dfosterf (25-Jul) : It's my one day deal complaint dept. on shareholder meeting day
dfosterf (25-Jul) : Probably a homer access credential intimidation kinda thing
dfosterf (25-Jul) : Meathead "journalists" skip this, concentrating on operational revenue when convenient. They switch when net revenue is more favorable.
dfosterf (25-Jul) : Resulting in an actual drop of net revenue of 12.5%. She is from Minnesota. Just sayin'

dfosterf (25-Jul) : Did Savion Williams run into a goalpost or something?
Mucky Tundra (25-Jul) : also, no bueno when a guy starts getting concussions right off the bat in his career
Zero2Cool (25-Jul) : Concussion is worse. Banks probably vet off day via back booboo claim
Mucky Tundra (25-Jul) : @AndyHermanNFL Jordy Nelson out at camp today. No word if he’s in play for one of the two open roster spots ; )
dfosterf (25-Jul) : Is that better or worse than Banks bad back?
Zero2Cool (25-Jul) : Savion concussion ... not good.
packerfanoutwest (24-Jul) : Aaron Rodgers’s first pass of first team period was picked off
Mucky Tundra (24-Jul) : tbh I didn't hear of his passing
