Probably a horrible idea... NT Alan Branch be an upgrade at back-up NT if Raji goes to the IR?

Sounds like the Bills cut him because he's getting drunk at horrible times and might struggle to control a drinking problem... but hey some drunks can play well...

Like I said probably a horrible idea...but the guy has been a starter for 44 of the last 48 games (two season on the Seahawks and one on the Bills).

Branch is a guy who can play. I'd trust him over Mike Pennel and Josh Boyd. The funny thing about hearing we don't want a slow slug like Pickett because we're trying to get smaller and faster on the DL just doesn't make much sense when I looked at the signing of Mike Pennel who may be thrust into a prominent role.

Pennel seems to pass rush better than Pickett.... though I think I could argue Jolly does better than Pennel... of course Jolly has an neck injury and might not ever play again. I think they're just going to play a lot more one gap defense than two gap defense.

Ted Thompson sits on his hands per former GM: "because they’ve had 25 fricking years of great quarterbacks. Of course it works. Try it without a special quarterback."

Sounds like the Chargers now have two injuries at NT and might have a bigger need for a NT than the Packers... so if the Packers want to grab someone they might need to do it quickly.

Also if the tweeter thing on the bottom right side is correct, Adan Schefter reported that the Patriots released vet DT Tommie Kelly... of course Kelly never lived up to his physical potential, and is coming off an ACL injury so might below normal. Just looking at times... of course the Packers are probably looking at younger guys.

Probably the wrong time, but I wanted NT Daniel McCullers... of course no team must of loved him as he fell to the last pick of the 6th round... but he looks better than Bradford right now and could of been had instead of Goodson as well.

Tommy Kelly is not really a NT type and he also was cut in favor of Jerel Worthy so there's that. McCullers I don't know a lot about how he's looked this preseason but I doubt he's been any better than Pennell.

Its Boyd and Pennell from here. I believe they can hold down the position. This injury at center is a far more pressing and urgent need. The kid has 11 days to prepare for the Seahawks in their building.
Circular Arguments: They are a heck of an annoyance
