This is unconfirmed and here are two tweets that somewhat contradict one another.

Granted, even if you have a torn ACL, you can still walk around, but why would you?

And Sir Jason Wilde has chimed in with good observation.

Green Bay - Packers coach Mike McCarthy said WR Jared Abbrederis missed practice Friday because of a knee injury, but he was not able to provide any specifics on the extent of the injury.

Seriously, they both were in with the doctors when Mike was holding the presser.

He had to tell the press 3 times he had not received an update.

Probably why it only lasted 5 minutes, they kinda pissed him off.

I'm not sure how Mike McCarthy is the blame for any injury, so if you could enlighten me, sure would help.

Hopefully the ACL report was just some reporter trying to scoop a story and got it all wrong.

We will all know soon enough,

I blame Ted Thompson for drafting these guys!!!!!

I think Nerd is joking otherwise I am a bit concerned. In any case, plenty of players are hurting their knees in the pre-season. Stuff like this will continue to rise the more the NFL fucks up the off-season and its practice schedules. In Jared's case, he needed conditioning anyway to continue to bulk up. He may have pushed himself too hard in the off-season, who knows. So many things are up in the air right now and we don't know if it is a tear yet. Could be but let's pray it's not for the kid's sake. He has undeniable talent.

A source told the Journal Sentinel that the diagnosis of the team's medical staff early Friday morning was a torn anterior cruciate ligament. The team was awaiting results of more diagnostic tests to confirm their original finding.

No bueno for the return game, and I think Cobb got a little more pricey if true.

Zero2Cool (2-Apr) : The spotting of the ball IS the issue. Not the chain gang.
Mucky Tundra (2-Apr) : Will there be a tracker on the ball or something?
Zero2Cool (1-Apr) : uh oh
Martha Careful (1-Apr) : Too bad camera's can't spot the ball as well.
Mucky Tundra (1-Apr) : So will the chain gang be gone completely or will they still be around as a backup or whatever?
Zero2Cool (1-Apr) : The method for measuring first downs in the NFL will switch from chain gangs to camera-based technology in 2025, the league announced.
Martha Careful (1-Apr) : A big step in the right direction. Just put in the college system is very very good.
