disappointed - but not as much as when Raji was signed hahaha. A LOT less disappointed than when Brad Jones was re-signed.

It gives the Packers a fall back option at QB.. if Tolzien develops.. that creates a good problem. Additionally in a draft like this with several decent QB prospect in it.. may give the Packers the ability to draft and develop for the future. Murray comes to mind.. Mettenburg.. a slew in that category.

unless he got too much money there is really 0 downside to signing him.

Count me as a fan of this signing. I like Flynn, and I believe he is capable of producing at a very high level if needed. Just what you want at backup QB. Plus, he and Rodgers are good friends. That chemistry is good.

Was only a matter of time, no way Ted was going to let Matt Flynn go to New York, not after last year.

Matt may have received a little more money with the planned trip to New York, if so, good for him.

Solid backup while Tolzien keeps developing.

Now just waiting for the news Jolly and Pickett are coming back.

Hopefully Johnny is healthy again and no matter what some think, Ryan Pickett's veteran leadership will be worth any money he gets.

I think its fair to assume that the contract is a "safe" contract and honestly, I'd prefer to overpay him a little....
1. because we have plenty of cap space to do so.
2. I'd rather not go through what we endured last season.

Flynn brings the security needed at the back-up position and he has proven that he can fill the role of backing up Rodgers when needed. I am just happy we won't ever have to experience Seneca Wallace again.

The move also frees up a pick. I'm thinking we are good with the 3 QBs they have, and if they need a camp arm they can sign a UDFA. I really like this. One year contract.

He's a better version of Doug Pederson under Favre. A career backup to a future hall of fame quarterback is a pretty good gig for a noodle armed quarterback. At least the Seahawks and Raiders were the ones that made him financially secure for life and not us.

I think the best thing about bringing back Flynn, is he will be a good resource for Tolzien to better learn the offense. Less questions that McCarthy and Rodgers will need to field.

Anything over a million is overpaying though.
The world needs ditch diggers too Danny!!!

I don't know how much it plays into Teds decisions but it has to be a factor.

dfosterf (25-Jun) : of the folks that run this team. I do not recall Mark Murphy being subject to our vote.
dfosterf (25-Jun) : Ed Policy yay or nay is on the pre-approved ballot that we always approve because we are uninformed and lazy, along with all the rest
