You would think somebody from this message board would be able to walk in and replace Both McCarthy and Capers and turn out a perfect season.

All the talent experts here that the NFL has just missed. Truth is, none of us really know what we are talking about. We like to act like we know what a players responsibility was on any particular play, but we are just guessing.

Second - many of us DO know what we are talking about. Just because MM didn't give us every playcall from the game doesn't mean we are all clueless. It doesn't take an NFL head coach to figure most assignments out.

Most importantly - this is a discussion forum correct? I don't think I need to elaborate on this one.

I would venture to guess Ed Reed added to our roster would make a positive impact in our secondary. He is a Pro's pro. While older at 35, I think he would still provide us better coverage than either of McMillian or Jennings. Last year Reed had 4 INTs and 15 PDs (McMillian had 1 and 5, Jennings 1 and 2) in helping BAL win the Super Bowl. I believe he would welcome the change in scenery from HOU to GB (for whatever reason, HOU did not seem a good fit), and that this team would be glad to have him. The Packers could provide one last legitimate shot at another SB ring for Reed, and Reed added to our secondary might be able to help them get there. To me, this would be a welcome signing.

Figure, if Rodgers can come back in 4 weeks, and we steal a couple of wins while he is out, we could be poised for a good run. Adding Reed now might be a real shot in the arm for this defense. One of the best pure Safeties ever to play the game. A lot of good stuff could rub off on this defense, and some of our younger players. I bet Tramon Williams would love it.

As doubtful as I am about it becoming a reality, I would love to see GB sign Ed Reed.

Jets are already showing interest… C'mon Ted, steal him away!

Let's put it this way, if we were to release 2 Safeties and add 2 more, I'd be very happy with Reed and Richardson vs. McMillian and Jennings. Those two have played that poorly through 9 games this season, and all of last season. That's 27 games of really poor play by both players. What do we really have to lose? We've got everything to gain by upgrading the play opposite Burnett.

The guy cleared waivers. I really think he is done. What little I saw of him in Houston was not impressive at all.

What looks really bad for Capers is how destroyed the defense got week 1 against a QB that's shown throughout the rest of the season that he struggles mightily if he has to make more than 1 read. Absolutely shredded by a passing offense that has been more or less shut down in every single other team all while the D was mostly healthy. It wasn't just guys getting beat either it was just wide open holes in the D. That game he was completely and absolutely out coached. As has been the case IMO more often than not.

Stuff like that added to 3 absolute embarrassments (all-time bad type) in playoff games just keeps me from buying all of the excuses for the guy. At some point the responsibility is on Dom.

It was too soon to anoint the kid as great. He had a great performance because Boldin (again) tore up the Packers secondary and it opened up things for other players to be open.

That being said, Capers defense with the Packers always seems to have the middle inside of the field open for the taking.

Zero2Cool (2h) : New site so much better. Might make switch and deal with it.
dfosterf (2h) : Mecole Hardman to our practice squad
dfosterf (2h) : Nick Nieman from Texans our 5th linebacker. Special teams signing
TheKanataThrilla (3h) : Looks like we signed Clayton Tune as QB3
wpr (3h) : TKT people lose their minds over QB3. Point is almost none of them are ready that's why they are on the PS and other teams don't take them.
TheKanataThrilla (4h) : Unfortunately he doesn't seem ready to be an emergency QB.
TheKanataThrilla (4h) : As a Canadian and a follower of Canadian University football. I am rooting for him
dfosterf (4h) : I bet a lot of us will follow the Taylor Elgersma journey with interest. Personally, got a Kurt Warner vibe goin' on. I like him
TheKanataThrilla (4h) : Not sure if either will be claimed though.
TheKanataThrilla (4h) : Tune or Hooker would make sense
dfosterf (4h) : Clayton Tune cut by the Cards? Don't know if that's the guy, we shall see
TheKanataThrilla (5h) : Per Bill Huber, the Packers will not be bringing back Taylor Elgersma or Sean Clifford on the practice squad, so a new third quarterback
Mucky Tundra (5h) : Schefter must have deleted his tweet
dfosterf (7h) : Hopefully Jerry reaches under the seat cushions and ashtrays of his jet and scrapes up the 45 million apr and spares us further nonsense
dfosterf (7h) : Have to admit the PO'd Cowboy fan videos would be fun to watch. Problem with draft picks is half their fanbase barely knows what that is
beast (7h) : I think Cowboys fans are ready to get their pitch forks and burning sticks if Jerry were to trade Micah
dfosterf (7h) : If Jerry traded Micah to GB, here in northern Va. they would have to quick build yet another data center to handle the internet hate traffic
Zero2Cool (8h) : its signing and trades that you don't hear about, other then announced
Zero2Cool (8h) : If you hear rumors about Packers sign or trade, won't happen. Not how they work
dfosterf (8h) : 19 players in a contract year. Jones called loss to us worst loss in Cowboy history. Forget Parsons trade. Not happenin' Cap'n
packerfanoutwest (9h) : The Packers, meanwhile, are the youngest team in the league for the third consecutive year.
dfosterf (11h) : That it was darkest before the dawn in Bengals and Commanders before they got deals done
Zero2Cool (12h) : what is Schefter saying?
dfosterf (12h) : He was getting Dorito infusion therapy
dfosterf (12h) : He's outta shape. Why, just the other day I saw him splayed out on the trainers table
Mucky Tundra (18h) : Parsons has followed Rasheed Walker on Twitter. Quite the choice
Mucky Tundra (18h) : Kuhn is a former player who works for the team, if somethings going down, he would be close to it
Mucky Tundra (18h) : @kuhnj30 Micah Freaking Parsons
Mucky Tundra (18h) : A LOT of buzz on the Bird App regarding Parsons; even Schefter is saying it's serious
dfosterf (26-Aug) : *Orzech*
dfosterf (26-Aug) : Orzich long snapper 3 yr extension
Zero2Cool (26-Aug) : Packers signed someone for three year deal
Zero2Cool (26-Aug) : lol i know it's insane ... sign up for the waiver wire then you'll know
wpr (26-Aug) : YES!!!!!!
Mucky Tundra (26-Aug) : WE WANT THE LIST! WE WANT THE LIST!
Zero2Cool (26-Aug) : @JJLahey · 2m Holy crap, Packers, where the heck is the list?
Zero2Cool (26-Aug) : haha folks on Tweeter every year this time ... 'where is list Packers!!" hahaha
wpr (26-Aug) : He played pretty good.
Zero2Cool (26-Aug) : NAZIR STACKHOUSE HAS MADE THE 53
Zero2Cool (26-Aug) : NOOOOO KALEN IS GONE
Zero2Cool (26-Aug) : Kalen King and Kamal Hadden making it. me thinks
schroeder84 (26-Aug) : @dfosterf I suspect Elgersma WILL be hard to hide. Raw, but talented
Zero2Cool (26-Aug) : pp.com is broken, halt testing, gotta go do work things for a bit
hardrocker950 (26-Aug) : Mecole Hardman was released, to the surprise of few
Zero2Cool (26-Aug) : PP.com updated. Reset Password works, and now User Profile pages are a thing
Zero2Cool (25-Aug) : Soft hope plan is having fantasy football weekly on-site that i build. cannot do that with this setup.
Zero2Cool (25-Aug) : It's older technology, resource hog, cannot be upgraded/changed. That's to start.
packerfanoutwest (25-Aug) : Ok, but what is wrong with this site?
Zero2Cool (25-Aug) : check out packerpeople.com
Mucky Tundra (25-Aug) : Oh crap I missed that! I thought it was a 2026 pick
