Great... now we have experts commenting on the prognosis of Finley without even seeing him, knowing his case, his details, his injury. I get the NFL sells and stories are needed... but in a case this sensitive.. you would think they would wait for the facts, not speculation.

Why this bothers me.. I don't know.. but in light that his son was upset about his concussion earlier this year and him possibly hearing this speculation on ESPN, which may or may not come to reality, just seems so unneeded. For what.. to be the first one to maybe get it right? To collect another dollar..

This isn't a football matter at the moment.. why not let his life take it course without this type of reporting?

Bleh. Bleh...... Bleh.

You want to talk speculation? nowhere will you find more of it than on uninformed sports message boards.

The guy, who is supposedly an expert in the spinal cord field says that in most cases with injuries of this type surgeries are needed I don't see a problem with it. If we followed your rules that only people with first hand knowledge of Finley's particulars would be allowed to talk about it we would pretty much be in the dark because pretty much the only people who know to any real degree are his doctors and they ain't talkin.

I know your comments are probably born out of frustration and concern for Finley and his family and that's admirable. Its just that we as a society have become habituated to instant gratification and we don't want to wait. We want our information right now and we want lots of it. If it matters we will sort out the facts later on...maybe.

About the same as me saying somebody needs a new motherboard for their computer after a report that it didn't start up.

Still, while he has more theoretical expertise on the subject, he hasn't examined Finley in this particular case.

IMHO Nick Collin's neck surgery was completely unnecessary and ended his career. I hope the same ridiculous bullshit doesn't happen to Finley, but let's just say my hope isn't up.

Get Scheffler in here and work him out.

It's news, and it DOES affect Packers fans to the extent we care about the Packers winning - which is a lot.

All this stuff about feelings and his family and whatever is the non-football stuff we could do without.

And this rather misleading headline gets people's attention, but is pretty poor journalism IMO.
