Earlier this week, the oddsmaker Bovada listed Green Bay Packers running back Eddie Lacy third in the race for the 2013 NFL offensive rookie of the year. With 7/1 odds, Lacy ranked behind only St. Louis Rams receiver Tavon Austin (5/1) and Denver Broncos running back Montee Ball (11/2). Count ESPN analyst Ron Jaworski among those who think Lacy could have a major impact. In fact, when making his Super Bowl XLVIII prediction today, Jaworski cited Lacy as one of the reasons he thinks the Packers will play the Denver Broncos for the title.

I like how he says both qbs have proven they can get them to the Super Bowl with the Seahawks and Pats. Did I miss something when did Wilson lead them to the Super Bowl?
Just Imagine this for the next 6-9 years. What a ride it will be 🙂 (PS, Zero should charge for this)

I love their running game and Christine Michael is going to make an impact. They have a good offensive line and a very good front seven. I'd argue Richard Sherman is a defensive player of the year candidate. He's playing near the level Darrelle Revis played in 2009 and 2010.

Finally, their home field advantage is among the best in the league. I agree that St. Louis is going to make some noise, but I wouldn't bet on Seattle going anywhere anytime soon. Both will make the playoffs (in my opinion), but I could see San Francisco taking a step back before Seattle this season.

I'm not saying that will be easy but he won't have the success he had doing it last year. Wilson on the other hand got better as a passer as the season wore on.

As far as Michael goes, I had him down as my sleeper pick in my FF league tonight but a couple of other RBs fell further than I expected and I couldn't pass them up so I lost the roster spot.

The Seahawks are good but I have problems with:

A-Their passing game. With Harvin out, who do they have as a receiving threat? Their WRs really don't scare me. I don't think they have a dynamic enough passing game for the playoffs
B-Their defense is one drug test away from losing an important player during a critical stretch (followed by said defensive player claiming it was Adderall for ADD)
C-Their obnoxious head coach and the way he handles his team. His whole "rah-rah-rah" route is great for college and it's gotten the Seahawks going, but it rubs other teams the wrong way and running up the score with fake punts and throwing into the end zone on 4th down is just gonna put a big bull's eye on them.

I've watched Russell Wilson for a very long time, as I'm an NC State alum. Used to see him around campus and such. He's definitely a guy you don't want to bet against. But Seattle as a team has a lot to prove and I think they're over rated. They will be in the playoffs, but I don't see them going to the Super Bowl.

I did like the moves they made in the off season and the draft, though. Especially the focus on obtaining more talented defensive linemen. If a team has a consistent and serious pass rush, they almost always have a chance. I didn't like the Harvin trade.

C-this has nothing to do with winning/losing.

-They DID drop 50, 58, and 42 point on teams in consecutive weeks while giving up a total of 33 PTS...

Methinks you need to give Seattle more credit

---

-They have a deep DL
Michael Irvin (pass rush sub)
Michael Bennett
Cliff Avril
Red Bryant
Brandon Mebane
Cris Clemons (PuP probably)

-A great (the best IMO) secondary
Earl Thomas
Kam Chancellor
Sherman
Browner
Winfield (slot)

Bobby Wagner and KJ Wright are actually pretty darn good LBs.. Not sure who the other even is.

--

Offense is run-first, and dispite all the hooplah, Seattle does not run the read-option very much al all. (Unless the opponent can't stop it [Bears])

Lynch is great,

Wilson is great,

The OL has an all-pro LT and C

The receivers are ok.. Defiantly were not a hindrance once they opened the play book up mid-season.
---

They schooled the 49ers and Patriots BAD at quest field... If you don't think SEA is a SB contender, look again.

They'll be a contender in that they'll be in the playoffs, but I don't see them winning more than one, maybe two games in the playoffs. I could say the same thing about the Packers though, but Aaron Rodgers could always explode and change the landscape completely, regardless of the rest of the team.

Russell Wilson is good, but he's not "great." That's obviously a matter of personal opinion, but he's going to have to do much more for me to consider him a "great" quarterback in the NFL, and this is coming from a long-time fan. The same definitely applies to Kaepernick, as well. I think they will both slow down a little this season, but will still be good.
