You can play with a separated shoulder. Eli Manning did last year. Favre has as well.

Was it their throwing shoulder?

Week 11 vs the Eagles back in '92 when Favre dislocated his, it was his left.

Not sure about Manning or any other times Favre has dislocated his shoulder.

He must have hurt it on the scramble, and then when he threw the TD he felt it go. At that point, he must have felt that he couldn't let loose anymore.

Before we go too far with this thread, we should acknowledge that last year Brett Favre was knocked out of a game with the exact same injury. He was okay the following week, and let's hope the same thing holds true for Rodgers.

If you are referring to the Cowboys game last year Favre injured his right elbow; not his shoulder.

I think you're right about the elbow, although Favre also suffered a dislocation of his left shoulder in that game.

Thompson is an idiot for putting all of his eggs in one basket... and I'm not talking about Brett, but in having no two straight out of college rookies to backup (injury prone) Rodgers. I hate to say I told you so, but... I did. I feel for Driver, he deserves better than what the Packers are becoming. Moving on was just plain stupid after a 14-4 year. Crash and burn. Packers have a tough schedule in front of them and will be lucky to finish 8-8. My prediction was 5-11, and it looks like that's where the team is going.

Oh and im getting tired of people blaming the o-line remember its the same line as last year. I blame alot on the play calling.

"dhazer" wrote:

The OL started last year lousy and got better as the year went on. This year they are playing even worse.
And it has not been the same line. Wells did not start the 1st 3 games this year. Moll who did start the 1st 3 games wasn't really a starter last year. He played in only 9 games last year starting 3. But he was subbing due to injury.

Clifton has been very mediocre a number of times this year letting the defenders blow right past him nearly unimpeded to the QB. Something you really did not see last year.

I know we don't wanna compare Brett and Arod but Favre played with a broken thumb and did great... theres gotta be a needle they can shoot in there that will allow him to feel no pain for 4 quarters... its just if he's willing to do it and he's tough enough to handle the pain

"Pacopete4" wrote:

Brett did not do great. He was gutsy but very below avg in his performances for several of the games. There were many times I wished he would have done one of two things.
1. Been a man and admitted he at 70% was not as effective as Pederson and ended his consecutive game string.
2. Admitted that he cared about the string and played the 1st series then let Pederson come in and take his place.

His best games after the injury were later in the year after he had time to adjust to the thumb injury and coincidentally against weaker teams.

I love this kind of attitude. We lose one game to the best team in football and one game on the road against a playoff team from last year - a game in which we were 30 yards from being in game winning field goal range.

But apparently, we are now headed for a 5-11 season. Pure gold!

Even if the WR got open, Rodgers didn't have time to get them the ball.

To me it seemed he tried to stay in the pocket too long too.

If staying in the pocket too long is 1.7 seconds then that explains it.
