I'm only writing this because there are still Favre faithfuls out there who feel the need to go on and on about what a "mistake" the Packers made.
Favre retired. That should have been the end of it- he had a great season and could have ended his career with a bang! (Not to mention some dignity.) The entire Packer nation wept and mourned over the loss of their hero- a legend. Time passed and we learned to somewhat accept it. I'm sure there are a lot of you (like me) who bought all of the SI issues and prepared to honor Favre for eternity. It was coming to a close...
And then he decides he wants to play again. Rodgers had already been promised the starting spot- he had long waited for this and it was most certainly his time...his team. Favre came back out of the blue and basically demanded his spot back, and for the next million days Packer fans were held hostage by non-stop coverage and DRAMA. He's played the "retiring game" way too many times- but this time it went too far. Not only was he an ass about getting back on the team that had moved on, but he betrayed us all by accepting a position on the NY Jets team.
Now, we all know the gritty details of the entire story so I won't go into that. What I'm saying is that Favre made a huge mistake. Had he stayed retired he would have actually kept all of his fans, and would've been known as having a great last season with a team that was always loyal to him.
The Packers are 2-1, with that one loss to a very VERY good Dallas team.
The Jets are 1-2, and now Favre is injured. Not only are Rodgers's stats better, but the Green Bay fandom has accepted him with open arms. We love the guy. I hear so many people say "Favre who?"...and he deserves it. Yes, he is a legend, but it's time to move on. A new era has begun with Aaron Rodgers, and I have a feeling he'll be around for quite a while.
The Jets can have our sloppy seconds...
I wonder what they'll do next year when Favre retires?
or doesn't...
or does?
Have fun with that mess.

With the way Rodgers is playing I really haven't heard anyone
saying Greenbay makde a mistake. I think the general feeling is
Brett made the mistake. It may be different where you live but around
here most people think GB made a great choice. I also think most sports commentators and writters are saying Rodgers looks like a solid QB
for GB so far and he gives us a great chance to go deep into the playoffs.

OMG your saying it was all Bretts fault lol. Thanks for the laugh. You said we all know what happened and that is very far from the truth we have no idea what really happened. You say Brett lost fans i say Brett gained fans did you happen to watch the Monday night game i seen tons of #4 jerseys in the stands plus all the Jets fans are his fans now, and from what i seen alot of Packer fans are still wearing his jersey. You said he betrayed us fans how is that because he wanted to play football? Oh and don't forget that we promised Rodgers he could start so there is no way we could break that promise, what would rodgers do quit the team? You talk about stats if i remember correctly Brett has more Td's and before you bring it up ya more INTs but hey thats Brett we accepted it for years. He has been in NY for 30 days and a 4-12 team last year. Lets talk at the end of the year about those stats. As Brett being hurt guess what he is starting Sunday what a surprise lol. People that have seen me know i can't stand Ted Thompson or MM and not impressed at all with Rodgers but i do say the whole offseason thing was both parties fault ( leaning towards TT's fault because he didnt want Brett here) But hey we have gotten stuck with TT's decision so we have to live with it only time will tell.
Just Imagine this for the next 6-9 years. What a ride it will be 🙂 (PS, Zero should charge for this)

I'm sick of hearing that Ted Thompson didn't want BF here.

I'm sick of hearing that throwing multiple INT's was acceptable.

I'm sick of hearing that BF is the greatest QB ever.

I'm sick of pissing in my pants, err wait, I probably should keep that one secret.

I'm not saying I don't respect the guy and what he's done...but really, no one put a gun to his head and said "TELL THEM YOU WANT TO PLAY, EVEN AFTER YOU SAID YOU WANTED TO RETIRE!!"
So...yes I do think it was a mistake on HIS part.
It's like breaking up with someone- and then after the other person has already moved on, you say "uh, yeah, lets get back together now, even though you're with someone else."
So...I hope that somehow the Jets and Packers end up playing each other in the post-season. That would be an incredible game. Not to mention a bit odd to watch.

dfosterf (25-Jun) : of the folks that run this team. I do not recall Mark Murphy being subject to our vote.
dfosterf (25-Jun) : Ed Policy yay or nay is on the pre-approved ballot that we always approve because we are uninformed and lazy, along with all the rest
