Defense just went from above average to below average without AL. Hopefully Woodson can hold up the rest of the year. Take Charles out and this defense is somewhere near the bottom of the league.

I noticed an interesting comment on the original post:

The commenter uses the name ERdoc4Pack, so using my highly tuned deductive reasoning skills, I gather he is a doctor - and a Packer fan.

More on spleens
By Greg A. Bedard

Green Bay - Since a lot of people out there are probably googling "ruptured spleen" now that Al Harris' injury has been revealed, here's some information on the small organ:

[ul]* The spleen is part of the immune system. It produces lymphocytes, which is a small white blood cell that helps defend the body against disease by destroying bacteria and other foreign substances. The spleen removes old or damaged blood cells and platelets. It also holds extra blood that the body will use if it's needed.

* The spleen is located in the left upper abdomen above the stomach and underneath the rib cage. Spleens in healthy adults are about 4 inches in length.

* A ruptured spleen is not uncommon because blunt-force trauma -- a hard tackle, a car accident, etc. -- can trigger it.

* A patient is usually given blood products to help stabilize a ruptured spleen. If that doesn't help, surgery is usually needed to repair the damage. Sometimes a small procedure is warranted. In the worst cases, the entire spleen is removed. This is what happened to now-Tennessee Titans quarterback Chris Simms.

* On Sept. 24, 2006, Simms was with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers when former Carolina Panthers lineman Kris Jenkins -- Cullen's brother -- hit Simms on a play. Like Harris, Simms was taken to the locker room for what the team said was cramps and was given IV fluids. Simms came back into the game and was hit hard by Al Wallace. After the game, Simms was rushed to the hospital by ambulance and had emergency surgery to remove the spleen. Simms did not play in 2007 because of the recovery.

* Recovery time from a surgery to remove a spleen is at least six weeks, but patients aren't usually cleared for contact for some time as the body adjusts.

* If the spleen is removed, patients are very susceptible to infection.[/ul]

Dude..............someone has to get OPEN for Rodgers to throw the ball to them.
He doesn't make the bonehead interception throws. I'd rather have a few sacks then hand the other team the ball on an INT.

The only CB in the draft that draws any interest to me, is Malcolm Jenkins of Ohio State.

Vontae Davis is pretty good too.

Williams, Blackmon, Bush, and Lee will need to step up. I think this is a huge blow but once again it's one player. One player doesn't make an entire football. Unless that guy is Tom Brady of course. :)

If someone steps up their game then GB could just end up developing another good corner.

I do think this puts more pressure on the front four to get a pass rush though. I don't think Williams is going to be able to hold his own every single game and I think teams will game plan to go after him and Blackmon in a big way now. I'm guessing it starts next week with Tampa Bay.

I hate to see how Indy plays us.

It's curious that we didn't hear about the 2nd opinion today. Anyone care to speculate on why that may be?

dfosterf (20m) : Maybe send a crew of Angels to the Packers draft room on draft day.

Zero2Cool (3h) : what
Martha Careful (14h) : WINNING IT, not someone else losing it. The best victory though was re-uniting with his wife
Martha Careful (14h) : The manner in which he won it was just amazing and wonderful. First blowing the lead then getting back, then blowing it. But ultimately

Mucky Tundra (10-Apr) : If they knew about it or not
Mucky Tundra (10-Apr) : I don't recall that he did which is why I asked.
Zero2Cool (10-Apr) : Guessing they probably knew. Did he have cast or something on?

Zero2Cool (2-Apr) : Texas’ WR Isaiah Bond is scheduled to visit the Bills, Browns, Chiefs, Falcons, Packers and Titans starting next week.
Zero2Cool (2-Apr) : Spotting ball isn't changing, only measuring distance is, Which wasn't the issue.
Zero2Cool (2-Apr) : The spotting of the ball IS the issue. Not the chain gang.
Mucky Tundra (2-Apr) : Will there be a tracker on the ball or something?
Zero2Cool (1-Apr) : uh oh
Martha Careful (1-Apr) : Too bad camera's can't spot the ball as well.
Mucky Tundra (1-Apr) : So will the chain gang be gone completely or will they still be around as a backup or whatever?
Zero2Cool (1-Apr) : The method for measuring first downs in the NFL will switch from chain gangs to camera-based technology in 2025, the league announced.
Martha Careful (1-Apr) : A big step in the right direction. Just put in the college system is very very good.
Zero2Cool (1-Apr) : NFL has passed a rule that allows both teams to possess the ball in OT during the regular season
Zero2Cool (1-Apr) : Touchbacks on kickoffs will now bring the ball to the 35-yard line.
