I think most trash talking is an attempt to get into your opponents head, and to get yourself worked up for the upcoming game.
As long as you arn't saying you want to hurt someone, i have no problem with it.
Of course you always run the risk of making yourself look like a fool if you get your ass whipped.

There is tons of psychology in sports. Tons. If a battle is close, sometimes you have to use psychology to win it. Part of the game. Always has been, always will be.

trash talk etiquette dictates that no matter how big of a "I was wrong" concession the trash talker gives, it does not exempt him from having to eat his words and take all the shit that he has coming to him.

it's not about talking the high road. it's about not being the one to make himself look like an idiot.

Does that go for people who back A-Rod and Ted Thompson too, Bozz?

If A-Rod tanks this year, or gets hurt, do people get to say I told you so.

Boy.....you just can't wait, can you?
Fact is, it hasn't happened yet. And it may not happen at all.
Here Rodgers did a GREAT job last Monday, and instead of admitting that and giving him props, you sit a drool hoping he screws up, JUST so you can say "I told you so."
REAL classy Roddy.......REAL classy.
Rodgers has been great so far, so........I TOLD YOU SO!!!!

Gee Cheesey,

I seem to remember making the same arguments here about BF.

Guess the grass is always greener, eh?

Gee Cheesey,

Did i ever say i was hoping for BF to suck?
Did i ever say i can't wait for BF to fail so i can say "I told you so?"

Nope...........didn't think so.
HUGE difference between me and you and your and my arguments. Of course i don't expect you to SEE that, or ADMIT that.

Fact is.......it is what it is. BF is playing with a different team.....not the team i am a fan of. I wish him well.....as long as it's not against the Packers.
AR is now "my" QB, of "my" team. I, unlike you, am a GREEN BAY PACKER fan. I want MY team to succeed. Quite frankly, i don't care if the Jets win or lose.
You want the Packers to fail.....why? JUST so you can say "I told you so". I guess if thats what you live for, thats your choice.
My suggestion is for you to go to a place where your hatred of the Packers will be more accepted. Say, PPO for instance.
Right now "my" Packers are 1-0, Rodgers completed over 80% of his passes, threw for a TD, ran for a TD, and threw ZERO interceptions.
Here he was GREAT, and all you can do is wait, HOPING he gets hurt or plays bad. Like i said.....REAL classy.

Cheesey.

I never said that I wanted the Packers to fail. YOU projected that.

I said, "if they do fail", then blah blah blah...

I happen to think that Ted Thompson pushed BF out the door prematurely. And don't give me that retirement crap. Ted Thompson had been showing BF the door for years in different ways. Even if you don't agree, that's the way BF felt, so it has to have some kind of reality.

I happen to think that AR is not the guy who's going to deliver the Packers the Championship, and therefore, by default, neither is TT.

Don't try to put words in my mouth.

This is just something I believe will happen, not necessarily something I wish to happen.
