It was very pleasing not to see #24 roaming around lost on the defense last night.

Sam Shields played exceptionally well last night.

This is what Sam Shields had to say about the 80 yard touchdown pass.

It was not a miscommunication. It was all on me, looking in the backfield. Things like that, we can’t have. Just don’t let it happen again.

I still think Shields has a good/great upside. I hope he has the attitude and work ethic to develop it. It was fun to watch him run down that receiver, he closed the gap pretty fast. But it got quite ugly when it came to tackling him and/or knocking the ball out. I think much of that comes from not having played defense until his senior year.

Shields is starting to look like Shields again, so now I changed my stance from "Bush on running plays and Shields on passing plays" to "Shields."

In looking how I pissed in the cereal bowl.. I thought I would bump this thread.

I will take anyone that can get the job done.. personally, if he keeps progressing, I will take Hayward by the middle of the season.

I've been most impressed with Casey Hayward. This probably does not make sense, but he just looks smooth and veteran out there. But I'd still rather Sam Shields over Jarrett Bush, unless it's special teams.

I love Shields, but for some reason he draws more phantom PI calls than any player I've seen.
