Against the Niners, we're going to throw out a lot of 4 WR sets and force 🇦🇷 to get rid of the ball in 2.5 seconds. As good as their D is, they're gonna have problems. Our OL will hold.

The scary thing is we only have 7 OL. I think 🇲🇲 knows something about Sherrod that he's not disclosing. He'll be back week 6 (that's the PUP rule, right?) and might be 100% by then. That would be 8. Maybe 🇹🇹 has a deal with another OL FA in the works that we don't know about too.

I'm guessing the Packers coaches kept 7 because only 7 earned their spot and they don't have any back room deals or anything. Other than maybe with the PS guys... saying if we get an injury we might need to call one of you up.

Also when Datko got his concussion they test a lot of guys out at OT including Barclay and D-Smith, and Lang has played OT before and probably could again. Lang struggled against some of the speed rushers but so does Newhouse and he's starting.

I think if Bulaga keeps improving like he has, he will be a pro bowler. Sitton could have a pro bowl year too. Saturday is also a possible pro bowler.

Lang is above average and Newhouse has the potential to be solid.

So the way I see it, it is one of the better lines in the NFC.

Regular-Season PUP

A player who finishes the preseason still on the PUP list can then be placed on the regular-season PUP list. Such players must sit out the first six games their team plays. At that point, teams have a three-week window in which to allow the player to begin practicing; from the day the player begins practicing, teams have an additional three-week window in which to decide whether to activate the player to the 53-man roster. If either of those deadlines pass, the player must remain on the PUP list for the remainder of the season.[1]

They only kept 7 OL because that was all they felt like they had on the roster worth keeping. They could throw in 2 more bodies just to up the numbers but that's dumb if you think that the extra 2 you are keeping are not much better than someone you can pull off the street/practice squad. It's wasting two roster spots.

2012 Ultimate Offensive Line Ranking

When you pull all of this data together and summarize it, you come up with the rankings at the beginning of the article. I’ve taken the top Internet 2012 offensive line rankings and compared them to our analysis.

I’m not sure what other analysts were thinking for these teams:

Overrated: Green Bay, Cleveland, Kansas City, Pittsburgh

Sounds like Aaron wants Clifton back...

“’Cliffy’ had a tryout with the Patriots; he has some interest from another team that’s really thinking about bring him in as early as today or tomorrow, from what I am hearing. If that doesn’t happen I think (the Packers) are going to have to consider a guy like that. Whether or not you act on it, he has to be in the consideration. He has a history and knows the offense and always has been an exceptional pass blocker.”

I would gladly take Clifton on this roster over Brad Jones, Brandon Saine, James Starks, and possibly Brandian Ross. To me, the confidence of your starting QB should never be compromised. This is a bit of a red flag. Rodgers making public comments about our OL depth in need of help.

Sign Clifton.
