If one of our guys is keeping 2 or 3 of their guys busy, that means we've got 1 or 2 guys extra to get to the QB or maintain coverage.

The reason the Packers defense was so bad was because they couldn't tackle. They didn't want to tackle. 99 percent of tackling is effort. Anyone can be a good tackler, but you have to want to do it. And our coaches have to take some blame for not demanding a better effort from the players.

And don't give me the "but we had a short off season and fewer practices in pads" excuse. How long was the 49ers' off season? How many padded practices did they have? Exactly. Thats a lame excuse.

We gotta press the QB. (imo, lol)

Why can't it be both? Because it was totally both. You HAVE to do one or the other, preferably be competent at both.

I personally have no problem with doing both.

BJ Raji took up boxing this offseason, hopefully that helps out his pass rush. i bet they called him butterbean.

Three things we need and we drafted for.

#1: Pressure up the middle. Jenkins was great at disrupting. Raji took a step back last year. Too many snaps perhaps?
#2: A better pass rusher opposite Clay. Can Perry live up to the hope? We shall see.
#3: Better athleticism in the secondary. Williams was injured last year. We got House as insurance and a great instinctive and athletic player in Haywood.

2) I hope so as well.

3) The loss of Collins I think hurt more than Williams playing hurt. Collins was a perennial Pro Bowler.

Raji was certainly over-rated, I will admit to that, but I don't think it can be denied that he took a step back if but only a marginal one.

And yes, absolutely no one was ready to replace Collins when he went down. Honestly, we weren't playing that great on defense before he got injured though you know?
