Week 4 Chart This is a damn good line and among the best we'll face all year. Von Miller looks like a home run at the selection and will be a terrific player for them across Dumervil all year. If our tackles could get by in pass pro this week (which they clearly did), they should be able to answer any task.
Quickly going down the line, Clifton had a nice day at LT. He was walked back once or twice with Doom getting straight to the chest plate early, but Rodgers was in a zone. He wasn't allowing the defense to get to him before he recognized the pressure and the quick out. BIG plus marks this year for Aaron. Probably his biggest improvement from years past. Also clearly the best line he's played behind too.
Another nice day for Lang. Didn't stand out, but that's not a bad thing.
Wells rebounded with another nice day, but level of competition should be pointed out. Didn't see anyone on the interior here that would give him fits. Probably wouldn't give him as high marks as the first two weeks, but nothing to complain about. Hope someone can diagnose that 4th and 1 play better early in the 4th, but it looks like Wells should have potentially continued down toward playside and taken care of the Mike, which would have freed Sitton and Kuhn to take care of SAM+Dawkins. Well played by Denver though.
As you'll see in the season stats, Sitton kept his 4th consecutive clean sheet as a pass protector, blanking defenders. He really is as good as they come in pass protection at RG. Made some nice blocks on the move in the run game.
Finally Newhouse. He played a solid game and about as good as you could expect him to against these guys. He officially gave up 2 sacks, but note that one came on a screen pass. It was well covered, so Aaron should have really thrown it in the dirt when he saw nothing coming. While Newhouse wasn't involved in becoming Starks' convoy (screen left), that ball should have probably been out of there by the time Rodgers took the sack. The other sack he was simply beaten right off the bat by Miller. Just a bad play. The other hurry/hit was at least 4 seconds after the snap, beyond the reasonable length a linemen should be expected to block his guy. Aaron was also outside of the pocket. Still, that's how I'm grading them, for better or worse.
