I'm glad Gurley and West made it on the practice squad. I thought one of those two would have made the 53 man roster. I'm a little surprised Josh Gordy wasn't added.

What are the rules regarding signing players off the practice squads of other teams?

Don't be happy that any of them cleared. All it takes is a team to say they'll throw them on their 53 for them to be gone.

If say the Dolphins want to activate Graham Harrell on their 53 roster, he's gone, unless he refuses or the Packers activate him to their roster first.

Plus the "unless the Packers activate him to their roster first" is stating what I said--"If we can find a way to put him on our 53 man we can keep him"--in a different way.

So ummm. I'm confused.

(b) Notwithstanding Subsection (a) above, a Practice Squad player may not sign an NFL Player Contract with his Club’s next opponent later than 4:00pm, New York time, on the sixth day preceding the game (except in bye weeks, when the prohibition commences on the tenth day preceding the game). Some scenarios I've seen with the Packers.
- Packers hear that a team is interested in one of their practice squad players, so they cut a guy and bring said player onto their active 53 before the other team has a chance.
- Team approaches Packers practice squad player, agent notifies Packers to see if they will active said player.
- Team signs player off Packers practice squad without notifying the Packers until after the fact.

Therefore, in my experience and understanding of what has happened in the past, if a team WANTS a Packers practice squad player, all they need to do is sign'em to their active 53 and he's gone.

On a site note, I deal daily with a 10 year old girl who's overly technical and I come here and get to deal with it to. How. Flippin. AWESOME!

I think that's how Brohm went to the Bills. They wanted him. We made him an offer to bring him up to the roster as the 3rd QB, but he wanted to go to the Bills instead. Better opportunity I guess. I think he got to be 2nd, and also got a shot to start.
If it was me, I'd stick around here and learn everything I could from MM's QB school. But I'm a loyalist I guess.

of the guys i expect west to be gone at some point, wr is always a need due to injury during the season, if the pack wasnt so deep there he would have made the team, i feel hes a capable # 5 almost anywhere in the league not to mention a punt or kick return guy !!

dfosterf (22-Jan) : Was that site shutdown on your end or mine? No big deal, just curious
beast (21-Jan) : That way teams like Indiana and SMU don't make the conference championships by simply avoiding all the other good teams in their own confere
beast (21-Jan) : Also, with these "Super Conferences" instead of a single conference champion, have 4 teams make a Conference playoffs.
beast (21-Jan) : Also in college football, is a bye week a good or bad thing?
Martha Careful (21-Jan) : The tournament format was fine. Seeding could use some work.
beast (21-Jan) : You can't assume Ohio State would of won the Michigan game...
