Nice to see our team able to pull out victories in close games, even if it's our scrubs. Especially tonight, because we were playing scrubs against starters. Except for QB, but we knocked Cassell out of the game. It wasn't too long ago that this team seemed to have some sort of jinx when it came to close games. Looks like that monkey might be coming off our backs.

The good thing is that KC played most of their starters through the game. Our 3rds and 4ths are better than their starters.

If we win a close game in week 3 or week 15 I highly doubt that the 3rd and 4th stringers' experience from week 4 of preseason will have anything to do with it. I'm able to arrive at that conclusion because I thought about it for more than 30 seconds. Sorry I'm such a hater, but I've already stated my rage is easily fueled.

Typically coaches make an agreement before the game and say yes we'll run that blitz, or no we won't be blitzing, etc ... it's more of a glorified scrimmage than an actual game.

I'd rather look at how our O-line performed (albeit against their starters) and how our offense sputtered after our starters went out, than at something like our 3rd stringers coming out on top in a pre-season win versus their 3rd stringers.

That said, I get what you mean... From that 2008 season onwards, we've seem to be a bit jinxed in this department. Although I did feel like we snapped that streak last year, when we rolled into the play-offs, winning two close ones against the Bears, one against the Eagles and against the Steelers, a game that got a little too close for me near the end.
