What baffles me is that referees are not full time employees of the NFL.
They need to hire these guys full time, up their pay, and make them work on shit year round. Maybe at that point they will care a little more and do a better job.
I know this doesn’t have anything to do with whether it’s rigged or not, but it’s a ref topic so I’m throwing it out there.

And I sort of like that the Refs have other options, that in theory, if the NFL would order them to straight up cheat, than in theory they can walk away, or tell the public, instead of risking their entire livelihood.
Also, I'm under the impression that the NFL doesn't want perfect calls, that they like the PR from slightly questionable calls... (Not like the Saints/Rams one in which everyone knows was absolutely wrong), and that is the main reason they haven't added more technology to the reffing. Because they could get a lot more calls correctly.
Also, even some for the retire Refs, that are now rules experts get the call totally wrong, like the one in the Denver games that said the Tied catch goes to whomever gets their feet down first... Um... when in the hell has feet down first ever been the rule? On any football level or any sport?
Rule is ties go to the offense... except maybe in tied in basketball, maybe goes to defensive there?
